It all depends
on if we are at home or at my aunt's house. At home, my mom makes an appetizer
which consists of melted sherbert, grapefruit, mandarin oranges, and pineapple.
At my aunt's house, we have a frozen fruit salad.

My mom makes it with some sort of alcohol and its really fabulous. She
usually prepares it two ways, with and without nuts, cause she likes nuts
but knows i wont eat em :)

With my family,
we have kielbasa. If we don't have kielbasa, the host(ess) gets harassed
for the terrible oversight. My mother-in-law makes oyster stuffing. My
other mother-in-law (husband's stepmother) makes the best apple pie on
the planet.

There used to be
a special mashed potato/sour cream/chedder cheese dish and an absolutely
indescribably delicious apple pie with caramel and walnut topping that
my Aunt made for Thanksgiving. We all used to go to her house for that
holiday...for years, since before I was old enough to remember. There
would be probably 20 people gathered around the table. It
was the way Thanksgiving was supposed to be. And there were always those
two special
dishes. Unfortunately, my dear Aunt passed away two years ago...and Thanksgiving
just hasn't been the same since. It's almost as if Thanksgiving died when
my Aunt died.
Tam
Mom makes turkey
& stuffing and the usual stuff, I guess. Sometimes she finds us chocolate
turkeys.

Cranberry jelly
and green bean casserole, along with the turkey, dressing, potatoes, gravy,

ours.

Cornbread dressing

I guess it's been customary to have fresh bread, but that's not really
a big deal either.
