How many hours of sleep do you need to be fully functional in the morning?
With six to seven
hours, I'm good to go.
Ryan,

I'll let you know...
Remus,
31
Rome
I need 8 to 9 hours
of sleep every day in order to function well. Anything less and I'm dragging
and grouchy. And now that I'm older, it's very difficult for me to sleep
past 7:00 in the morning.

Five. To be fully
functional and happy... six.
Fisch,

9 ish
Stephanie,
25
TX USA
I usually need
about 9 hours of sleep in order to be fully functional.
Melissa,
20
PA USA
To be functional
yet ill, 4 hours. To be only slightly ill, 6 hours. To be fully functional,
8 hours or more.
Keri-Jade,
23
Brampton, Ontario CANADA
Seven.
Jane,
63
West Linn, OR USA
I don't know as
I've never gotten enough.
Reba,
57
Gaithersburg, MD USA
i guess probably
at least 6 to be really functional, though i can get by with less, and
would prefer more!!
Cara,
18
Valparasio, IN USA
About 8. Though
after the initial overwhelming urge to stay sleeping in bed, I'm fine
no matter how little sleep I've had.
Aly,
17
Cardiff UK
Im never fully
functional in the morning, but then i never get more then 5-6 hours of
sleep. So more then that, probably
Talia,
25
Redding, CT USA
About 8 1/2.
Judy,
62
Easton, KS USA
I need about 7
hours. I rarely get it.
Cathie,
53
Novi, MI USA
I need about 8
hours but I usually get no more than 7 hours. I do fall asleep on the
train (for 20 minutes) on the way home at night. I sleep late on the weekends
and a nap if I can get one in.
Janet,
45
E. Brunswick, NJ USA
If I sleep under
four hours I'm ok. If i sleep past four hours I need to have 6 to not
fall asleep in class.
Em,
16
Harrisburg, PA USA
That depends on
what day it is. I go to sleep most nights around midnight, and during
the week, I need to be up at around 6 in the morning. Therefore, I usually
need about 6 hours of sleep in order to be ready for college in the morning.
Jared,

Crestline, CA USA
I'm almost always
fully functional in the morning no matter how much sleep. It hits me about
midday if I didn't get enough sleep.
Doug2,
30
Overland Park, KS USA
On a regular basis,
probably 8.
Karen,
23
Ames, IA USA
These days I need
at least eight hours of sleep a night. When I'm battling some sort of
illness, I can sleep the clock round.
Jill,
61
Saylorsburg, PA USA
It's been so long
since I had a regular sleep pattern, I have no idea. I can get up, get
ready and be at work ready to go on 6-7 hours sleep. I wouldn't however,
call it fully functional!!!
Tracy,
24
Ocean City, NJ USA
That's a bit of
a trick question. Sometimes in the past I have functioned better on 4
hrs of sleep than on 8 or much better than on 12 or so. However, if I
*consistently* get only 4 hrs of sleep, I start
getting *bchy* and can't think straight. So maybe the answer is *various*?
