Do you think that opposites attract?

I think that opposites fit well together... I don't think they necessarily attract.

I'd say my husband and I compliment each other. I am pretty loud (OK Laura, very loud on occasion) and out going, my husband is quiet and not one to speak up during a conversation. But our basic core values are the same. What we want out of life are the same.

I think sometimes it just seems that way, but when push comes to shove, there's usually some strong common bond.

I think that it is very true...opposites always do seem to attract. However, I don't always think they belong together in a relationship.  Friendship can work, but sometimes it's disastrous for love life!

yes i believe they do (most of the time anyway)

Opposites in temperament can compliment each other. Opposites in morals or values or ethics have nothing in common--except, perhaps, lust.

No. I've tried it and it didnt work for me.

Sometimes. I think the best matches are people with complementary personalities and interests, neither too much the same nor too divergent.

I don't really know. I think they CAN, but not necessarily always. My wife and I are certainly NOT opposites, but before marriage I did date a few women that were basically my opposite. I guess it just depends on what a person is looking for.

I think the common set of opposites I've seen is where you have someone is when someone who is a bit more of a control freak is with someone who can go along with almost anything. The control freak might be attracted by his or her opposite but the other is probably just hanging out for the lack of something better to do.

Sometimes. But that doesn't mean they'll get along well.

Sometimes... Sometimes not.

As far as magnets are concerned, yes. People are less predictable.

Let me put it this way...if opposites did attract, well, somebody who loathed pro wrestling, who thought writing and reading are a waste of time...who was a lazy bozo who never worked, and hated animals would be my bag...and that damn sure is not the case...for me, opposites are not my bag...

Only if they're magnets.

I think so. Maybe it's because each side has "holes" that the other side fills in, making the thing a "whole".

I think they can, but there comes a point where having too little in common can be an issue.

Sometimes. Who knows what magic creates chemistry between two people.

I do think opposites attract, but only to fight. Two stubborn people who are opposites come together at first because they are open minded and accept the other. When the relationship continues, either they will end up in a fight and then they will split up or they will stay together and one person would have changed. Some people change with resentment. Which may result in a split.

Sure thing! I feel we're all very curious about the "unknown" , so to speak. Mystery has a power that pulls anyone in, and when you meet someone who's your oppositte, you probably don't know too much about what they do, or why they do things. It's mysterious and intruiging, therefore attractive!

It sure did with my husband and me.

Laura, 37

Not really. For a brief time, I suppose, but eventually the differences seem to create a divide, a breach in understanding. My boyfriend and I are very different but also very alike, and our similarities strengthen our relationship.

Yup. While I'm currently seeing someone that is very similar to me (personality-wise), I am usually attracted to people that are quite different from me. Whether or not any of them were ever attracted to me, however, is a different story. :)
