How much attention do you pay to campaign ads?
Absolutely none...
they are very annoying.
Doug2,

Overland Park, KS USA
As little as possible.
Karen,
23
Ames, IA USA
I really only concern
myself with environmental issues.
Tam
I watch them the
first couple of times I see them, but I take them with a grain of salt.
You just can't tell what's true, half-true, or lie. After that, I tune
them out.
Judy,
62
Easton, KS USA
I don't watch television,
so I pay absolutely no never-mind to sound bite commercials. I read and
review direct mail advertising, but make my voting decisions based on
newspaper reports and editorials.
Jill,
61
Saylorsburg, PA USA
Not much.
Ashley,
20
Jacksonville, FL USA
Not a bit.
Fisch,
47
Preston, CT USA
Quite a bit, but
not the way their makers intended. I pick them apart, classifying the
amount of negativity, whether or not they respond to points raised in
opposing ads, whether they talk about issues or play on emotions, how
the candidate or proposal is presented and how effective it might be on
different audiences. Campaign ads don't sell me on anything because I'm
too busy watching how the selling is being done.
Cathie,
53
Novi, MI USA
I mainly get annoyed
at them and mute them.
Talia,
25
Redding, CT USA
I
try to avoid them but that's a bit difficult. I'm not sure if all the
negative ads help third parties or if they work in making people paranoid
enough to vote for the mainstream candidate they're less worried about.
Alias
Irrelevante
Not at all. They
are even worse than the worse commercial.
Felicia,
36
Lowell, MA USA
None. I still can't
vote yet so I really don't care.
Em,
16
Harrisburg, PA USA
Enough to realize
how ridiculous they are
Melodi,
19
Gahanna, OH USA
Not much at all.
Ususally they are half-truth and twisted information.
Ryan,
29
Morton, IL USA
I tend to ignore
campaign ads. Oregon has, this year, had a epidemic of offensively negative
ones, and their cumulative effect on me has been that I refuse to vote
for anyone who uses the technique.
Jane,
63
West Linn, OR USA
None. They drive
me crazy and the phone calls are worse.
Janet,
44
E. Brunswick, NJ USA
Absolutely none.
Every year around election time I pat myself on the back for not owning
a TV.
Laura,
37
Lowell, MA USA
umm.... i complain
about the bad, trashing ones on tv and radio, but that would be about
as much attention as i devote to them. sometimes i count the signs when
i run to see who has more,
purely for entertainment though.
Cara,
18
Valparasio, IN USA
I always pay attention
to the ads, until I have seen them several times and then I tune them
out. I prefer to get my information from newspaper stories or debates.
Cindy,
41
VA USA
As
little as possible...I hate them and they are annoying! A TV commercial
or postcard in the mail is not going to change or help me make my decision!!
Tracy,
24
Ocean City, NJ USA
I
never pay attention to the ads, I think they are a waste of money and
time. I really hate when you get the computorized phone calls. I try to
vote for who I think will do the least amount of damage.
KarenNJ
Milltown, NJ USA
None...the
one ad I liked was for Ralph...at a campaign rally for him...it was a
play of the Mastercard ads...like " the price of a campaign dinner
$10,000 (pictures of Gore)...someone with integrity, priceless..."
that was a cool ad...
Cladius,
31
Rome
I
opted out of the snail mail fund raising slash mud slinging that the Dems
wanted to send me. Luckily I don't watch TV so I missed the repub. Version
completely. I heard about them though. Not my bag.
