Has your pet ever helped you out of a bad situation?

My pit bull informed the world that her master was not napping, but had drifted into a coma.

Only if you count the times when they were an easy distraction.

Alias Irrelevante

No. I've never had a pet.

No, but it's good to get me into bad situations.

Not that I can think of.

Um. . .loneliness/boredom, I guess. . .there could be such a situation, but I can't think of any. If
anybody's interested, though, they can see Ghost & Bernard on my site: http://www.karen.hart.net/frogentry.html

I have never had a "Lassie, what are you trying to say? Timmy fell down the well?" situation. But, I can tell you many times that my dogs have lifted my spirits and kept me sane in the face of
overwhelming life situations. Tip, my border collie/shepherd, is very sensitive and is my closest animal pal. He knows when I am upset even if I am not crying. His standard response is to cram his big body as close to me as possible and put his head in my lap. If I need a hug, he will bring half of his body up on me and let me hang onto him as long as I need him. His soft brown eyes are very reassuring. There is nothing like the unconditional love of a good dog. Nothing. I think it is as close as we come to God's love on earth.

Not really, unless you consider companionship and avoidance of a bad situation.

My two dogs are always lifting my spirits, everyday! As for getting me out of a bad situation...well, years ago I had a huge, sinister-looking shepard mix who was as sweet as could be. One time I was out hiking alone when some guy came up out of the woods and seemed to be following me.
Winkie turned and uncharacteristically started growling, baring her teeth and acting as if
she was going to attack. Of course the man disappeared back the way he had come. I honestly think the jerk probably had some wicked intentions and Winker somehow sensed it and acted upon instinct, or something, to protect me...because like I said, this dog had the sweetest temperament of any dog I've ever known! She had NEVER growled at anyone or shown any
aggression prior to this incident. So, yes...Winkie got me of a situation that might have turned bad. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1999 at the age of 14. I miss her terribly. She was my best buddy for many memorable years.

If you mean, actually, phsically performed some feat that got me out of a jam... no. However, my dog listens very well and has "listened" to me complain quite a few times and him just being there
(although, now he is at my mom's) sometimes cheered me up.

No, but then again a pet rock is usually no help in general settings.

Growing up we had a dog named Skippy who was dummer than a rock, but he always there to lick the tears off my face when I was inconsolable.

No, but I'll be interested in seeing the other answers to this one. I love dogs.

My cat, Binky is afraid of himself. God forbid it had to help you. He is a skitty Kitty!
