How
do celebrate a good friend's birthday? We go out for dinner, laughs, a few drinks and a birthday
present.
Janet, 44
E. Brunswick, NJ USA
Usually we have lunch together or we go to
dinner with our husbands.
Laura, 37
Lowell, MA
USA
Whatever they want to do...it is
THEIR birthday!
Tracy, 24
Ocean City, NJ USA
However the friend wants. If I am choosing
for the friend, probably with a good dinner, either at home or in a restaurant.
Jane, 62
West Linn, OR
USA
However they want it to be celebrated,
within reason.
Firelady. 24
Dallas, TX
USA
Their call. I'll comply as long as it is not
immoral, illegal, or too embarrassing.
Felicia, 36
Lowell, MA
USA
Give them something I would want for myself
that they would like to have as well, take them out to dinner, give them some money, etc.
Melodi, 19
Gahanna, OH
USA
Unfortunately most of my good
friends live at a distance and my budget limits me to
cards and perhaps, a telephone call.
Jill, 61
Saylorsburg, PA USA
With presents and sometimes cake.
Karen, 22
Ames, IA USA
When I was young it was kind of
'traditional' for every kid to have a party and I was invited to all of them. Now I just
give a gift and send a card.
Reba, 50+
Silver Spring, MD USA
With a homemade cake, lots of ice cream and
hopefully a handpicked present that really means something to her. Lots of friends around
and whatever she wants to do!
Triana, 29
Austin, TX
USA
Going out, having a few drinks, playing some
pool. Nothing much, but it's always fun.
Doug2, 29
Overland Park, KS USA
Doing whatever they want to do. It's
their special day.
Nicci, 27
Las Vegas, NV
USA
Good cheer, good cake, good conversation
about lots of fond memories.
Fisch 47
Preston, CT
USA
I have no friends. (im not even kidding,
either.). In the past, when i did have friends, Id give them a present, and we might
go out to dinner or something, maybe.
Talia, 24
Wilton, CT
USA
My best friend and I celebrate our birthdays
together quite often because I was born the day after her. This year I got tickets to Blue
Man Group on New Year's Eve for us and we stayed the night in Chicago.
Maggie, 22
Sandwich, IL
USA
That's a touchy subject. I'm in a perpetual
state of poverty, so I avoid birthdays like the plague. I usually pretend I don't have a
birthday, so people don't bother to buy me a present, so I'm in to obligation to anyone
else. I sort of skipped out on my friend's birthday this year, though, which I felt bad
about. It was during finals, and i was sick, so I didn't really want to leave my bed. And
I didn't have the time or money to get her a gift. She'll get hers soon, though--homemade
gifts are the best.
