I am very fond of crows. I do not like to eat them, however. I love birds in general. . .starlings are very sweet, and we have lots of nice juncoes. Etc. Someday I would like to see a European nutcracker.

My favorite bird to eat is the penguin, to watch - the yellow-rumped warbler (a common bird but when it's in breeding plumage, wow!) and to hear - the ethereal song of the Veery.

The list is too long, but I am happy to report that the birds are back and singing blissfully all around my yard - especially since most of the snow has finally melted. We have cardinal couples who show up every year and I even like the flashy brash blue jays. Some of my very favorites are the little chickadees and blue birds because my Grandmom always got a kick out of watching them flit around like little chubby cherubs.

This time of year I can be sentimental about hearing the Mourning Doves cooing and courting. I love watching the winter birds: chickadees, nuthatches, downy and hairy woodpeckers and a
Carolina wren at the feeders. As for the table, Chinese duck is elegant eating.

The only birds I really eat are chicken and turkey - chicken being my favorite. I love to look at doves because of their beauty and what they represent to me - which is love and free will. I love to hear our love bird, whose name is Emie, short for Emerald. She talks up a storm and mimics simple 1-2 syllable words.

The little tiny birds that clean up your messes in Hawaii. They stay around our feet at your dinner table (assuming its outside) and wait for spare crumbs. Adorable.

I love to eat a roasted chicken, or maybe on the grill. To watch, I have a cat bird that comes around every spring and follows me around the yard. I love when I see hummingbirds in my backyard, but I never get ther real pretty ones but the ones that look like big bugs, I still feel like they are magical.
