When was the last time you were asked out or hit on by someone you were not interested in?

Last semester, a class mate was being particularly friendly. It took a while for him to figure out that I wasn't interested. It was rather strange because it's been a long time since something like that has happened to me. I didn't realize what was going on the first few times.

Usually I am oblivious to such things, but last week an guy who use to volunteer for me and now lives elsewhere declared his love for me. Needless to say, it was not mutual. I think he has fallen on tough times and has mistaken concern and support for love.

About five years ago. He volunteered at the same historic home where I was a docent.

I wouldn't have thought it possible to be hit on at my age, but it did happen to me just about 5 months ago. A male acquaintance mistook some well-intended encouragement and advice as flirting. I was flattered at first, but then did the mature thing and ran away like my shoes were on fire. Funny how when you're the least available, you can seem the most attractive.

Does the impassioned wooing of an untrained German Shepherd count? Last year I did fend off a suddenly ardent e mail correspondent.

About a fortnight ago. I hate it when that happens; I don't like hurting people's feelings.

Just this weekend, some lady was hitting on me at the bar. I told her I was married and she left me alone.

Well, I went to the bank a couple weeks ago and some guy opened the door for me. I can only assume this was the same guy who left me a note reading "Call me Your cute" with a name and two phone numbers. It was under my wiper when I got back to my Jeep.

I was in a bar in a hotel in Richmond. I was there because of the Virginia Press Association's convention. Everyone I was with was dancing and I wanted to dance so badly, but no one was asking. "You Look Wonderful Tonight" came on - a song that has always created a romantic picture of slow dancing in my mind. I felt someone tap me on the shoulder and ask me to dance. I said yes without looking around. When we met on the dance floor, he turned out to be a good half a foot shorter than me and spent the whole song resting his head on my chest and grabbing my butt. Needless to say when I hear that song nowadays an entirely different picture pops in my mind.

Probably last time I was at the bar or club.

Just the other day, which really irked me because this person KNEW I had just had a kidney transplant. This was not a polite invitation to dinner, either! I wouldn't have been offended by something like that. Why are some people such idiots????

I don't know. I guess I have been married for so long that the I'm available vibe doesn't even show through. :-(

Saturday, I believe. A few guys just wouldn't take no for an answer and I had to use some very strong language. And what's up with those guys who think they can just 'shimmy' up behind you when your dancing or grind with you uninvited? So creepy and gross!
