What pictures to
you have on your walls?I just moved into my second, probably slightly more
permanent, temporary residence here in Los Angeles, so I have yet to hang, and
probably will not be hanging, any real pictures(like a Picasso or a Renoit or something. .
.), or even an enlarged photograph. . . Once I find some scotch tape I do plan on hanging
my mini-poster for the film Chuck&Buck, which I picked up in the lobby of the theatre
I saw it at last week. . . .

Well, we used to have oodles of photos on
our walls in San Francisco, but we now have a landlord who has a phobia about holes. She
went so far as to announce that she thought we were "regular people" and had she
known we were "artists", she would not have let us have the apartment. We were
very alarmed at first but have come to terms with things leaning. We hung up one big
photo, taken by a friend, of the Natural History Museum in Paris. We have photos of
friends and family, small artwork, some cork boards with inspiring odds and ends, my
collection of found photos (purchased at yard sales and antique flea markets) and some
mounted bugs.

Paris through a Window in my family room I have a stone
replica of an Aztec calendar in my bedroom. My wife has an ornately framed picture of the
lord's prayer in five different languages in her "Serenity Room". We have a
watercolor of a landscape just outside our bedroom; its green and purple hues match the
purple walls. We have a blown-up framed photo of my wife swimming with a dolphin when she
was 12 hanging in our family room as well.

I've got your standard geek posters: Star
Wars, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Battlestar Galactica (a new acquisition), Taxi Driver,
Reservoir Dogs, Tool, and UNKLE. I have a collage that my friend Ann did and a photo of
myself and a group of friends taken in '93. I am looing into getting an Otis Redding
concert poster, but the price keeps skyrocketing on ebay.

I have SO many things on my wall, they are
covered completely. Posters of various bands, a calender, pictures of me and my
friends, fantasy art of faeries, dragons and whatnot. Some celebrities...and on one side
are a bunch of anti-drug/alcohol articiles and the bumper stickers I collect. I can't
stand to look at a bare white wall, it bothers me! :D

I am a real family person. So the
pictures on my walls are of my family. Going back to my great great grandmother. My
parents, my children, my grandchildren. Also my wedding pictures. I hang things my kids made in school and now my grandchildren. I also have
pictures of special friends and events in our life. We have a few watercolors by artists.
Other things on the walls are candles in different types of holders. We have a tree
branch, madrone, that holds our hats and hanging bells and trinkets. We have 8 foot long
shelves on our walls to put our 'country clutter' on. So, there isn't much more space for
anymore "stuff" but we will find room.
We like to hang stuff from the ceiling also.
A kite graces one corner of our bedroom with a birdhouse covered in moss in the other
corner.
I have a tall bottle of Pepsi poster I got
from work on one wall of my office. We have made collages of different bike tours and
these remind us of good times. Also, backpacking trips.
We love to decorate in different ways and we
have found a balance without looking like our house is full of junk. I love our home and
enjoy being here. It is so welcoming and cozy.

If I were not in
the midst of moving, on my walls in by bedroom would be a photo of three Adirondack white
deck chairs sitting empty in a late afternoon sun on the dock at my parent's camp (taken
by a cousin w/ a photographic eye). a ditch filled with briney liquid and encompassed by a
2 foot sulfar / salty layer (taken by myself during a stay in Kenya), the typical wedding
photo of bride (sister) and two bridesmaids (myself and sister's friend), another picture
of myself and my brother (both very drug, but happy), picture of a dear friend long dead,
oriental painting of a peacock on baboo, the rest of the house has several absract
artworks including a Kadinsky print that I love and posters from a roomates beloved films
(including Gilda and Breakfast at Tiffany's). Additional photos by friends also
adorn various surfaces.

I collect
free postcards with advertisements on them from "hotshots" and
"m@xracks". I put them up on my wall in an order that probably is only
recognized by me. I also have a few posters with random cool stuff on them (one of those
computer generated fuzzy pictures that you have to "look-through" to see the 3-d
image and a growth chart with Timon and Pumba from the "Lion King" and a pciture
of a guy at a lighthouse about to be drenched by a wave).
