Have you (or did you) go any where for the holidays?

My immediate family is local and my son-in-law's parents and sister come in from England for the holidays, so I don't really go anywhere. I spend Christmas Eve at my daughter's house so I can enjoy the children's discovery of what Santa has brought.

I like to stay home for the holidays and visit close friends in between.

I spent a few hours with my family about an hour away from where I live on 12/25. I had to go to work so I couldn't stay long.

Christmas morning we'll open presents here at my house, then we'll go my sister's house to open more presents and eat. Christmas night, we'll go to my uncle's where a large number of people gather to drink and be merry.

Nope and we probably never will. Neither Bill nor I have any family living and we consider our pets and our friends our 'family'. We wouldn't even consider leaving them at Christmas.

I think we went to my grandparents' house for Christmas once; we went to my aunt's house at least
once for Thanksgiving--she lives in Kansas City, and I think we stayed in a hotel overlooking the plaza so we could see the lights, which were very pretty. It was a cool hotel. It had tiny cans of Hershey's syrup. We went shopping, and I bought a toy Wicket the Ewok and had some Pez. I called those my "energy pills." And my aunt used to make the BEST vanilla fudge--she's since lost the recipe. Other than that I've pretty much just gone to my parents' house for Thanksgiving & Christmas, if I'm not there already. The last two years we've gone to my husband's parents' house and mine for both holidays. I've usually rung in the new year at my parents' house, but there aren't really any sacred traditions associated with that. One year I helped a friend baby-sit on New Year's Eve. It was really icy/foggy, and it turned out that I was violently allergic to the cat in the house (I've never reacted to a cat that way before or since). I can't even remember New Year's Eve last year. I think we slept through midnight.

I went to my grandma's house (2 hours away) for Thanksgiving and for Christmas everybody is coming here.

Mentally and emotionally, I've traveled both to the past and to the future. Time exploring is one reason holidays retain importance.

Yep, spent my holiday time on my sofa. This is a far cry from where I usually spend all my time, my office at work.

We had our family Christmas on the 21st. We're going to one of our son's for dinner Christmas Day. I'll probably be at our daughter's New Years Eve, helping with the new baby.

We go to Dan's side for lunch and to my side for dinner. This year we went to lunch at his oldest
brother's and to dinner at my sister's. It's always potluck with plenty of food. I probably shouldn't eat anything for the rest of the week!

Cathie, 53

No I stayed home in the 70 degree weather compared to the freezing weather everywhere else

Savannah, 17

We went to my parent's house on Saturday and that is the only place we will go to this year.
