Are you in a 'holiday spirit' this year? Why or why not?

I am in the holiday spirit because I am sick of the negativity in the air and I want it to change it. Plus if you stay happy everyone will be happier.

i'll be more so, i think once i go home next week. it is really cool though---downtown here is all lit up, and there are giant santa statues and wise men displays, and such, and there are speakers
all along the street which play christmas carols :)

I am, sort of. We put up our Christmas tree this past weekend, and it is so beautiful. I am making Christmas crafts for gifts this year, but got a late start and have only purchased the materials for them, but haven't actually started production. I have to get everything done this weekend, so
while I'm looking forward to it, being stressed out from having a deadline takes away from my holiday spirit. I hadn't anticipated having so many work and family responsibilities all at once, but I'm trying to stay relaxed and not have a hissy fit at my family or a meltdown at work.

I'm rather pleased with the quality of my seasonal good will in spite of a larger consignment than usual of slings and arrows.

Not really. I am looking forward to the food and family though.

I'm not really in full gear yet, but I'm going shopping today and tomorrow, so that should help.

HUM BUG. Christmas is a royal pain. Buy everyone you know something at one time. With 5 kids and 6 grandkids, it gets expensive. Shopping is endless and wrapping and delivering is a chore. Lights to put up, tree to decorate. Work, work. But hey, Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm not in the usual holiday spirits this year. I guess I'm anxious about my upcoming transplant surgery, which is scheduled for Jan. 29. I've actually been too busy getting things in order for this surgery to have much time to really get in the holiday spirit.

Not yet. I'm trying hard, but I just lost a close family member a few short months back and it's been a slow climb up a steep hill for all of us.

I have the holiday spirit. I enjoy seeing my family. I must admit that it gets stressful at this time of year. I have my house decorated and most gifts bought. But we decided not to put up a Christmas tree this year. No one wants to help me and I will not do it by myself. So I am giving myself permission not to stress out over it . I also am not baking cookies like crazy. I have been dieting and have lost 30 lbs so far - so I do not need distractions in the house. I find as I get older - I realize the world will not fall apart if you do not do everything like Betty Crocker. I am just

Not as much as previous years. I don't really know why; the hype is as prevalent as ever and I usually get sucked in. I just feel more relaxed about everything this year.

I'm always in the holiday spirit...no matter the holiday :)

I'm in somewhat of a holiday spirit -- it would be difficult not to be when there are young children around, happily anticipating Santa's arrival and joyously singing in various performances.

Not quite yet. My younger daughter graduates on Sunday December 15th. After I'm done celebrating with her, I'll think about Christmas more.

I'm in a 'Christmas mood' more this year than any year since I was young. I volunteered to decorate our office this year and donated a 4 1/2" tree. Setting it up was a wonderful experience as nearly everyone in our office (about 25 people) donated a few ornaments. Then, for the first time, we had a Secret Santa program. So much fun! Our office's Christmas party was the best ever! The radio station I listen to plays Christmas music from Nov. 29 to Dec. 26 and I dare anyone to listen to Bing Crosby sing "White Christmas" and Nat King Cole sing "The Christmas Song" and NOT get in a holiday mood!

Not as much as usual. I dont know if I will be laid off at my current job soon and we are building a house which will be done 2 days before Christmas and we are having the family over then and I am planning a wedding all at the same time. Plus in the middle....christmas shopping.

I'm getting there. My holiday spirit is more directed at having fun with the kids than anything. Putting the tree up with them, watching them as they get more and more presents under the tree... and of course Christmas morning after "Santa" has visited. Spoiled kids, but so much fun.

I think I'll be in the holiday spirit after Saturday when I finish the last of my final exams. Also, given circumstances in my husband's family, Christmas has lost much of its magic in my life. However, New Year's Eve is when my family gathers together and it is a really joy-filled time. I'm grateful that my sister opens her house to us every year.

Yes of course! Because this is Jesus's birthday and a new beginning - a new year. I always love this time of year because there is so much possibility and optimism!!
