The new leader is chosen by popular vote in a process driven by politics. God is not the one doing any choosing.
Thoughts? I'm not Catholic or oriented to the traditional Catholic point of view.
Feelings? Good will.
I'd be shocked if it winds up being a American. Hey,
whoever is their bag is cool with me.
Typical Catholicism: All ceremony with little or no purpose.
I'm not catholic and really have no emotions whatsoever about the choice of new pope.
The process seems almost Byzantine in its complexit.
