I was never good enough at sports to make it onto a team, which also gives me no qualifications to be a coach.

Often when I play volleyball, other people tell me where to go and what to do with myself when I get there! Seriously, they coach me kindly and with good results after these many years. I am not a natural athlete but I can finally play decent volleyball because they coached me.
Yes, though not in the usual sports team sense.
I was on a Science Olympiad team. I was coached in several events, including orienteering, genetics, chemistry lab, and a couple of fun physics events.
I ran track in high school and had two different coaches throughout my four years in this sport.
I'm not an athletic person.
