For eating? Shellfish.Symbolically? The monumental beast too clever to be hooked? In literature? I've always had a soft spot for Jonah's whale.
Charlie the Tuna! (Starkist doesn't want tuna with good taste, Starkist wants tuna that tastes good.)
Salmon
To eat? Red snapper or crab (which is a shellfish, not a fish). I also admire my grandchildren's latest aquisition, a beta named Aquamarine.
Salmon or bass, but it has to be really fresh.
In my fish tank, long ago, we had a sucker fish that my son named Mr. Ed after my neighbor. He lived a really long time. When it finally died we had the burial in my back yard with all the neighbors.
