No, and I tried not to think about it either.

No. I thought the elaborate celebrations were inappropriate under current conditions.

I listened to Bush's speech on NPR as I drove to class.

From Steve:

I tried to but I get sick listening to that shallow, braindead, hypocritical sack-of-shit antichrist pretty easily.

No. I went to work and did something productive instead.

No--and I skimped on reading about the festivities the next day in the newspapers.

Most of the money spent came from private funds, but I have little patience with people who try to make rules about how other people should spend time and money.

Furthermore, the money spent this week in Washington, mostly stayed in Washington. Our national capitol is chronically short of tax-producing revenue.

Nope. Didn't think about it at all. Seemed anticlimactic. The winner of the election was the big news.

Heard about all the inaugural balls and the amount of money spent on them by large corporations. Must be nice. If you want to get to the president, no matter what party he represents, just put funds towards his inaugural celebrations (and tell your employees to tighten their belts, becuase times are tough economically).
