Let's put it this way: I haven't started for 2005 yet. Although I have something for a September birthday already.
I give pictures I've already taken and had printed.
Probably when I buy my National Wildlife Holiday Cards which are on sale in July.
I usually start around Thanksgiving, which is when we draw names and get wish lists.

I do Christmas shopping some time in November, although this year my husband and I cut back to bare bones. Only my nieces and nephews still in school got gifts from us this year.
Probably in December. Unless I see something during the year that I know is perfect for someone.
