I designed my kitchen so that the top of the refrigerator would not become a catch all.

Both my refrigerator and upright freezer are festooned with memos, appointment cards, and lists.

Magnets, magazine ads, colored pictures, a drawing by my mom (oh, we do have original artwork in our house, to answer a previous question!), the grocery list. . .

I have lots of magnets that my family and I have bought while on vacation. They hold up my current report card, pictures of my nieces and nephews, a list of family phone numbers, a copy of a newspaper clipping about my parents' wedding, a recipe that I want to try, and a list of the 2005 Stratford plays.

A couple of large platters live on top of my fridge. The doors are free of magnets, artwork and other memorabilia.

I have a microwave and pot holders on top of my refrigerator. I have a bunch of magnets holding photographs and various pieces of refrigerator art on the doors.
