Traditionally, it has been: Procrastinate ttill I absoultely have to make a decision, then decide. I still revert to that sometimes, but I like to think I've been doing my share of making decisions in a timely fashion lately.
I amass all the possible facts, discuss options with sensible friends, throw in my intuitive reactions, and hope I have the wisdom to choose correctly.
It depends on the context. My favorite decision making technique is to flip a coin. My husband and I flip a coin whenever we can't make up our minds. If we want to flip again, we know the answer.

Fret and wobble back and forth betwixt choices until i randomly choose one, then am convinced it was the wrong choice.

Gather information, then decide. If it is an important decision, wait a few days before making the final decision.
