I live in a rural area and through October most of the local roads could be co-opted as landscape scenes for jigsaw puzzles.
We went to a big lake this year. That was cool.
I grew up in upstate New York, about 30 miles from Vermont, and I still favor a return to the Adirondacks or New England in the autumn. Nowhere else do you get quite the same massing of intense color.
I live in New England. All I have to do is go outside and I'm surrounded by beautiful colors.
