Have you ever hallucinated?

I was on a hullucination drug as a teen and saw a pot of vivid flowers on the wall of a club (not a club to have flowers on their wall)

Only once, when I was a child and very ill. I don't remember any details.

Yes, when I first had my kidney transplant, I was on high doses of anti-rejection medication, which can sometimes cause neurological "effects." Soon after I got home from the hospital (last February) I thought I saw an Amish lad of about 7 years old walking through the snow in my front yard. Now, granted, I do live fairly close to an Amish community, but these people do not let their children just wander...so I was amazed to see this little guy in my yard. I opened
the door to call out and see if he was lost...and *poof* he was gone! There were no footprints in the snow or anything! So...I'd say that was a hallucination. I'd had a couple others while on high doses of that particular medication...but since they've cut it down, I've been fine...well...at least I think so....

Not intentionally.

I've had very vivid fever dreams, but they've been only momentarily confusing.

Not that I'm aware of. If I have, they were very real hallucinations!

A few times, like once after a sixteen hour solo drive across country, and that is when I knew it was time to pull over.

In my own mind or with the aid of chemicals??? The answer is yes to both

Janet, 46
E. Brunswick, NJ USA

Yes. When my husband and I were stationed in Germany with the Army 18 years ago, I went to a German doctor to ask if he could help me get rid of a terrible cough I had that was so bad it kept me up nights. He prescribed for me some pills that contained codeine to calm down the cough-control center. They worked wonders from the first day I started taking them. However, after a few days I found that I was beginning to hallucinate so I stopped taking them. Fortunately,
by that time my cough had eased greatly.(By the way. We don't have those pills in America.)

Reba, 57

I don't think so.

Karen, 24

Yes -- I had a very high fever and was taking medicine that I will no longer take. It wasn't pleasant. I don't understand why someone would want to hallucinate.

Laura, 38

Technically. I mean, LSD is a hallucinogen. Ugh. Never again.
