How
do you feel about pornography?I don't really have much of an opinion...I don't look at it
or buy it myself, but I'm not against it being out there either. As long they keep
their noses clean (no selling it to minors and no using minors), I guess it's OK.

I am not into it, but believe in freedom of
speech even if porno is not my "thang".

this is a pretty touchy subject for
me. If it is used as an aide between couples to enhance
their sex life, fine. If you and your mate want to make some home porn for personal use, I
highly recommend it :) But it can sometimes get in the way as far as attention to your
significant other. If they think that porn is more important than you - that's not good. It
makes me feel like there is a female ideal that as a woman is really hard to live up to.
My husband and I watch porn occasionally, but for nothing more than cheap entertainment -
we use it for really cheap laughs. But i feel sorry for the girls who decide to be in
porn, not magazines, but hard-core porn, I think that they are some of the saddest women
around. men are visual creatures by nature and it is hurtful to think that your mate is
fantasizing about another woman, but that isn't always the case. Sometimes, men just need
a little jump start to be ready for the performance of a lifetime. Porn is a really
really difficult subject to think about. My husband and I have discussed the possibility
(the highly unlikely possibility) that Playboy would ask me to pose, and we both think
that it would be a great idea. Just a kick in the pants. So yes I am a hypocrite, I admit
it, but there are just too many sides to
porn to just say "Good" or "Bad".

I'm not interested in viewing it,

to.

I don't think ANYONE likes pornography
(unless they LIKE pornography). But awhile ago I found another reason to dislike it. It
can be addictive. A friend of mine is hooked on it and it all started innocently enough.
When he was twelve, his friends talked him into reading Playboy and he continued to read
it all through his high school years. When he joined the Air Force, the guys thought his
behavior was 'cool' and when they went to town, he went with them and once again, followed
the crowd when they went to a brothel. Pretty soon he couldn't get enough pornography and
the desire to sleep with any woman who was available became uncontrollable. He became
active in church but was eventually excommunicated and is doing everything he can to kick
the habit so he can go on with his life. When bad things happen to good people. I hate
pornography!

It isn't exactly something I am
interested in, but who am I to tell someone what they can put in their VCR?? If it isn't
some freaky illegal thing, who is it hurting? I know, I
know, the whole argument about it exploiting women and all... I don't buy it. No one is
forcing the women to be in these movies. Whether people like it or not, America is a free
country, and stuff like this is bound to exist... just like anything else I don't really
think

It's an exploitation of something that
definitely shouldn't be displayed to the whole world... I mean, if someone is showing off
their body like that then how can that person ever have respect for themselves?

Not to sound too prudish, but I believe
there is tasteful porn and not-so-tasteful porn, then there's always the downright trash.
It's like anything else...there's a place for it I suppose. I don't have a big problem
with people enjoying it...but all people are different as well. If a person can see it for
what it's worth, and leave it at that, fine. There are the chosen few, however, who can't
get the proper handle on it, and either abuse it or take it to heart. Part of my job at
work is to weed out the "illegal porn" from the "harmless" stuff. I
work at a photo lab and what many people don't realize is that sending certain materials
through the mail is a federal offense these days. The internet is another story
entirely...and something I also have to be concerned with at work. It's amazing what
people will send out and ask to receive back from a set of total strangers - who work
closely with the postal inspectors. On a strictly personal level...I do think there's a
place for most of it...and on the other hand, I think it's a somewhat dangerous world we
live in. No one really knows what goes on
behind closed doors - even right next door!

I don't understand the amount of it,
isn't like there can be a whole lot of variety, y'know?
If you've seen one silicone enhanced bleached blonde chick with her high heels behind her
shoulders looking to find a half dead billionaire you've pretty much seen 'em all.

I don't care, to be honest. I find it
disturbing rather than sexy. If breasts do nothing for you, though, publications like
"Hustler" actually quite entertaining.

enthralls and disgusts a lot of ppl. Ican enjoy good porn, but I wouldn't want to have
anything to do with thoseppl or that scene.

I think porn is trouble. I mean,
think about it. The only reason a single man watches porn is because he isn't
"getting any" or he is a real loser. and if a "taken" man watches it,
they are not in a happy relationship. What is the point
of watching other women if you are happy w/ your mate at home. and if you are using the
excuse that "it turns you on when you both watch it or just the male or just the
female", its only sexual urges, its not love. If you are truly in love w/ your
partner, you don't need others to help turn you on. DUH! And think guys that obsessed w/
pornos and women sexually and to a point of "needing pornos or adult stores" are
missing something very important in there lives-LOVE.Not physical love but love that comes
from the soul.

Well, as long as it's polished and good
looking, I like it. I'm often amazed and disgusted by the sleazier and almost-underaged
stuff that seems to popular, though. And I can see the day where I'll have to ditch
what little I have in the house. Not that that will keep my son from finding porn if he's
looking, but... well, I haven't thought this out all the way yet. I'll probably need the
wife's help with that kind of planning.

My personal reaction to pornography is
disdain. I do not consider sex to be a spectator sport. My reaction to the reactions of
other people is more complex. I feel that children should be protected (although the major
responsibility for the innocence of children belongs to the parents of those children). I
also feel that censorship is a misguided--even
Jill, 59

I think the exploitation of people,
especially children, is very, very wrong. That portion of the sex industry is evil.
However, I don't think that what is generally understood to be pornography in western
culture is initself inherently wrong. Many people work in the sex industry of their own
free will. More power to them. It's when others are forced into it, that there is a problem. This is a complicated issue.

The movies and magazines like
PLAYBOY and HUSTLER are not my cup of tea as a rule,
but if it floats your boat, have a blast. In terms of whether it objectifies women:
well, yeah, but so does a lot of other things. Tackle beauty pageants before you tackle
porn. If we are classifying things like Anais Nin in the category of porn, then...um...I
quite like it.

Depends. To each her own I say. If it
doesn't harm anyone and you're not obsessed with it, then so be it. Now I wish we lived in
a society that didn't NEED pornography (well, I know we don't need it but our
societyTHINKS it needs it), but let's make the best of the situation at hand.

I don't agree with it, but if its gonna stop
a lot of frustrated men going out and raping or sexually assaulting innocent girls that a
bit wouldn't be too bad. I think most people look at pornography just for the intriguing
nature of it

personally, i dont look at it, read it,
watch it, etc. however, i feel it is protected fully under the 1st amendment. i feel
people should be free to do as they want as long as it doesnt infringe on the rights of
somebody else. pornography does not infringe on anyones rights... the people who create it
do it freely, as do the people who watch it. if you are offended by it, dont
look/read/watch it! people who campaign against it should try not pushing their morality
on to other people.

. . .it's
not my cup of tea. . .it seems like a very profitable industry, but my own perversions are
plenty to get my bell ringing every time I want to. . .I just have to focus on my own odd
and disturbing sexual proclivities and then I can move on to something more healthy. .
.I'm kinda curious about its various manifestations, but it seems like a bit of a waste of
time and money. . .I'd rather see a hockey game and go to a few straight movies. . . I
wish more people would be more open about it and that there wasn't such a stigma about it
as it would hopefully allow me to understand them better and get closer to them. . .(but
the clandestine nature of it is probably part of its appeal. . .)
