Have you ever gone on a vacation that you were anxious to be over?
Yes. It seems
I get bored easily when there's nothing to do but sit in a hotel room
and read. A few years ago, I was having trouble with my legs and it hurt
to walk. We went to Shenandoah Park for the week of Thanksgiving but I
couldn't go outside and the cottage we were staying in had no TV and I
forgot to bring a radio. I was climbing the frigging walls! We went home
early and though we still go there for Thanksgiving, we never stay more
than one night.

When I left to
study in France for 6 months, I had just met the man I was going to marry.
I was very anxious to get back from France because I hated being away
from him. I ended up staying only 4
months and we got married 2 days after I got home. Then we left to Las
Vegas for 4 days and I was very anxious to get that vacation over with
too because I had jet lag and just wanted to snuggle up in our new house
with my new hubby.

I don't think that
I'm ever anxious about the vacation itself. I do worry a little bit about
my dogs when they are in the kennel and we are away.

There have been
a couple trips that I was wishing would end a day or two early.

Never! But I've
gone to concerts I was anxious to be over.

I don't think so...it's
not much of a vacation if you're anxious :)

Yes, though not
often. One of my trips last summer involved more driving than I wanted,
and although I was enjoying being with friends, by the end of the third
625+ mile day, I was ready for that part of the trip to end.

I really don't
remember a time where a vacation was that bad. All vacations are precious
to me.

Yes. I went to
Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands when I was 13 with my family, and
we had all sorts of problems - shitty apartment, bad food, horrible neighbours,
problems with car hire and the like. It was such a relief to get back
home. The travel agents gave us a nice subsidy though.

For some reason
Thanksgiving vacation was always especially difficult growing up. My mom
wouldn't let folks help her in the kitchen and by the time she finished
everything, the perfectionist that she is, it would be 9 p.m. and everyone
would be tired and grumpy and hungry and ready to give up on it all...Good
old days.

We stayed at a
place down the Jersey shore. Our original rooms were not available and
we got other rooms. It was ground level and must have flood one too many
times. It was dungy and the "artwork" was awful. I put the pictures
in the closets and bought bleach and Lysol. I was glad
when it was time to go home.

I went to Hong
Kong for a week with my Dad, who speaks Chinese. We stayed three days
with relatives who only spoke Chinese. It was unsafe to drink water from
the tap and sometimes the water didn't run at all. I spent a lot of time
smiling politely and being bored. I was anxious for that part to be over.
The rest of the week was a convention in a hotel, and that was okay.

Yes. This past
summer when I went to O.C Maryland with my cousin, her boyfriend and my
two aunts. My one aunt yelled at us none stop and we were thinking of
taking her van and leaving. The only reason that the trip was ok at all
is that I met a guy and my cousin, her boyfriend, and and this
guy went out clubbing.

Yeah, when I was
little and my fam of 4 drove from North TX to Orlando
FL for vacation in a midsize sedan and stayed there for 3 days.

NEVER. I love vacation
time and wish I could afford to do it more often.

Yes. Bad marriages
make for horrendous vacations.

Oh my God yes. A couple of years ago, my husband got a
big
bonus check from
work and had the bright idea to take a joint vacation with both sides
of our
familes. We went to Disneyworld, and it was a complete nightmare.
The
adults were getting into power struggles over who would make
plans for each
day. Our cell phones hardly ever worked in Florida so when we
were
separated in groups, we would try to call the other group to
coordinate
where we were going to meet up, and we kept getting out of service
messages.
So we spent a lot of time just sitting around trying to contact each
other,
standing in line for the fake shows and rides, and since they were
doing
construction on the main road we took to get to the park, we spent
tons of
time sitting in traffic. In between all that we were all arguing and the
kids were bored and whining. Since we had spent so much money
on
Disneyland, we felt obligated to spend every minute there even if we
weren't
having fun. The kids only got to swim at the hotel pool one time.
One
morning I was so stressed that I had awful stomach cramps and
nausea; but as
soon as I sent everybody to the park, all my symptoms suddenly
disappeared
completely. I spent the entire week just trying to keep a grip on
myself,
