How
diverse is your group of friends? I don't really have a group of friends. I hang out with my
family & neighbors, and that's about it.
Melodi, 19
Gahanna, OH
USA
My friends are mostly white middle-aged
women, straight and gay, intelligent and curious, Christian, Jewish and agnostic.
Jill, 60
Saylorsburg, PA USA
My immediate friends, the friends from high
school and college -- not at all. We're all from metro NYC, white, middle-class, college
graduates. My extended friends are more diverse and include a variety of economic
backgrounds and include people from all over the U.S., Brazil, England, Uganda,
Philippines, and Italy.
Laura, 36
Lowell, MA
USA
Not that diverse. The people I hang out with
the most tend to be people I have a lot in common with.
Alias Irrelevante
Fairly diverse...I have quite a few Indian
friends, a couple African American, but all the rest are white. But then, those that are
white are from many different nationalities. It could be more diverse I suppose, but I
have what I have and I love them all!
Tracy, 24
Ocean City, NJ USA
Reasonably diverse as to age, but otherwise
mostly white professionals. Oregon is not noted for its ethnic diversity.
Jane, 62
West Linn, OR
USA
Not very. I hardly have any friends.
Firelady, 23
Dallas, TX
USA
Well..culturally, not very. As far as
personality..incredibly.
Angela, 18
Bella Vista, AR USA
Not at this time. I pretty much have friends
that are white in their late twenties to late thirties. This has not always been the case
and of late it has been bumming me out.
Felicia, 35
Lowell, MA
USA
Not very, unfortunately. One is
Metis (like myself), the rest are white anglo-saxon people. Four of my freinds are gay but
I don't know if that counts as diversity. It's not
something that I did delibretely, but my high school had four black people, six Jewish
people and two asians.
Jaden, 21
Brampton, Ontario CANADA
I have White, Black, Mexican, and Chinese
friends
Russell, 36
Durham, NC
USA
Very diverse. I have friends who fly off to
Jamaica on a whim or go to Spain to choose the next marble for their foyer (seriously),
and friends who have eaten in soup kitchens. I think growing up in a large city and also
working at many different types of jobs has afforded me a very well-rounded circle of
friends. I feel pretty lucky to have been on both sides of the fence myself.
Fisch, 46
Preston, CT
USA
Pretty diverse I suppose.
Dianne, 17
Ontario CANADA
quite undiverse because I have no
friends.
Talia, 24
Wilton, CT
USA
The main group of people I hang out with
ranges from the youngest person being 21 years old and the oldest being 40 or so years
old. That big of an age difference makes for some very interesting conversations. It's
rather funny. The oldest person has a child that is around the same age as the youngest
person. That always bothers them when we party and the age topic comes around.
Aaron, 22
VA USA
personality-wise, my friends are a pretty
diverse group. but I think most of us are people critical of society and fairly
intelligent... as for actual ethnic diversity, all my friends are white. I didn't
necessarily choose it that way; there is just a vast majority of white people at my
school. The 10 or 11 non-white people that go to my school keep to themselves.
Politically, too, they're all pretty diverse.
Johanna, 18
OK USA
my group of friends is extremly diverse, not
only racially but personality-wise. we all look and act very differently.
Becky, 16
AUSTRALIA
not as
much as I'd like it to be
Patty
We are pretty homogenous soccer Moms!
Janet, 44
E. Brunswick, NJ USA
Fairly.
Karen, 22
Marshalltown/Ames, IA USA
My group
of friends is kinda diverse. Let's see, they are all different ages. A few are single,
most are married, a few divorced, some have children. One or two gay people, most are
straight. My husband is from India, the rest are basically from the same american
background. Some are snooty, some are redneck. Some are skinny, a few obese. Some are
christian, some are nothing. Some drink beer, some wouldn't touch it. A few like weed, the
rest wouldn't touch that either. A couple smoke, most don't. Some are quiet and shy, some
are loud and outspoken. That about sums it up.
Lisa J., 23
TN USA
Prettty divberse, actually. I dont make
friends easily, so I dont have alot. Still my small circle of friends has a lot of
diversity.
Derya
We're mostly all
at least ethnically Jewish if not practicing. In fact, we're all Reform Jews, too. So,
there is basically no diversity. There is no diversity of religion, race, ethinicity, or
even socio-economic class. There is a diversity of genders, though, and a diversity of
sexual orientations and political
beliefs.
Eric, 19
Beverly Hills, CA USA
fairly diverse....(whatever that might mean
exactly)
mothmc, 37
Los Angeles, CA USA
As far as
age and occupations it is very diverse.
