What
is the scariest movie you ever saw?Anytime you realize a Saturday Night Live hasbeen is making
millions of dollars off a one-joke charactor you have to be scared.
Alias Irrelevante
The Exorcist. The most disturbing was the
Deer Hunter. I could not sleep for days after either movie.

I'm not a movie goer. I am very, very
frightened by the amount of money to be made in films that glorify violence and carnage.

I saw the "Shining" at Julie
Butler's slumber party in 7th grade. To this day, I'm still spooked by long hallways! But
I think "Silence of the Lambs" is the scariest movie ever! I saw it years
ago and still think about it...especially when I walk by my garage window - I always think
I'm going to see a big glass jar with a head in it! Obviously, I don't do well with scary
movies at all, and I don't allow myself to see them anymore. I'm just too miserable after
I see one because the intensity of the movie doesn't wear off for me! I don't even like to
see the previews of scary movies!

The Stepford Wives scared me, but not in the
way one would assume from the question.

The Day After (1983)

post-nuclear aftermath. Even skeptical drama fans will be engrossed by its surprisingly
stark realism, though some plot resolutions may seem a bit optimistic.

In a close contest I would say it is the
Exorcist by a nose over the Hitcher. Honerable mentions include The Shining, Rampage,
Damage, Manhunter, and The Stepfather.

I 'd have to say the exorcist. I
first saw part of it (about 3min. worth) when i was
about 8. And I didn't get up enough courage to see it till I was 18. But It still freaks
me out when I see it.

The original "Psycho" - the black
and white one. That was scary, but brilliant.

The Prince of Darkness. I can't stand Satan
movies (the old Catholic girl in me I guess) but that one scared the living bejezzus out
of me. I slept with my parents for a week, and I think I was about 14.

No question, The Exorcist.

I think how scary a movie is goes with your
mindset. Legend, Through the Looking-Glass, and Raiders of the Lost Ark all
freaked me big-time when I was little, as did a Highway to Heaven episode featuring the
devil. Fight Club had me looking over my shoulder, and Sixth Sense was way scary the
first time. I generally avoid scary movies like the plague.

The scariest movie I ever saw(or ever will)
has got to be "The Exorcist". I saw when I was younger and was terrified of that
horrible voice Linda Blair had. I also hated when her head spun around. I will NEVER watch
that movie again!

One of the scariest movies I've seen
was actually an oldie but goodie...the original House on Haunted Hill, black and white
with Vincent Price...Just one of those sit on the edge
of your seat and leave much to your imagination movies...you know, the good "old
fashioned" kind. I think many people nowadays get confused with what is truly
"scary" and just plain "gut-wrenching." I can do without the gore -- I
used to see enough of that on the front page and centerfold of the old New York Post!

hmmm.... I can't remember the name of it for
the life of me, but at the very end of it a woman is very graphically raped and strangled
to death by this man she picked up at a bar... it is a movie from the 70's. That movie
messed me up for weeks. I had insomnia the night I saw it so I flipped on the tv to
soothe me to sleep and that horrible thing was on... eek

spiceworld, with the spice girls. it didn't
help i saw it at a theater with a huge screen and stadium seating. geez, i had nightmares
about that one for weeks.

Please hear me out before you throw
tomatoes: the Blair Witch Project. That movie was
able to grab onto a great nerve in me, mostly because it was more close-to-home for me
than any other movie I've seen. The wife and I have visited and hiked around
in areas like the BWP' setting, and we have gotten lost and turned around in the
Blue Ridge moountains before. Nothing scary happened to us other than having to walk for
miles in a summer downpour, but the familiarity of being alone and confused in the woods
is there.

About 20 years ago my husband was in the
Army and on guard duty for the entire night. I was home alone and wanted to watch TV so I
watched "The Amityville Horror". That movie scared me so badly and was by far
the scariest movie I have ever seen.

My answer is extremely relative. The movie
was Sphere, but it was only scary the first time and only because I was in a very
weird mood.

I couldn't tell you...I love scary
movies and not many succeed in scaring me.
There's a part here and there from different movies that succeeded in making me jump in my
chair, but I don't think there's just one movie that's SCARY.

i dont really watch scary movies. i find
that most "scary" movies arent really scary... theyre just gory.

The first Scream movie... I watched it at my
stepdad's friend's house, and I had to run across the street after it was over... i swear,
I didn't sleep for days...

I just saw this new Darren Aronofsky film
called Requium For a Dream. . The deep, painful pathos of it made me sweat a cold sweat,
raised the hairs on the back of my neck and made me nauseous. . .I was scared shitless,
forgot I was even watching a movie. . .
