If
someone you were close to died as a result of this current war on terrorism, and you were
previously in favor of the war, would it have any effect on how you viewed/favored the
war? I
don't think so.

It's hard to make a call on that one until
you're in that situation, God forbid. From my objective standpoint, I think it's important
to realize that we are fighting for a good cause and seeking justice for the crimes
committed against the US and all its citizens. I doubt I'd want to sacrifice everyone's
safety and bow down to terrorists because I personally suffered. Thousands, if not
millions, of people personally suffered

My ex-husband was in Desert Storm, as was my
current. I don't know what I would have done if I had lost either one of them. I
fully agree with the war in Ass-kicked-istan, and if someone I loved was in the Armed
Services, then I would understand that is a risk that must be taken. If I had lost someone
in the WTC/Pentagon attacks, I would have been even more in favor of the war.

It would only intensify my feelings.

Honestly, the reason I asked this
question is because my cousin, Brad, was killed in the
helicopter that crashed in Afghanistan on Monday. He was only 22. I haven't been a
supporter of Bush or this war since the beginning, but it got me to thinking about if Bush
or any of the other avid supporters of this war were to lose someone close to them as a
result of the war, would they still support the cause? This is a difficult time for my
family, as one could imagine, and it only furthers my belief that there are options other
than war that can solve problems. Innocent people die young when we fight in a war, and
while it is a noble and courageous way to die, it saddens me that anyone has to die to
begin with.

No, I would still be in favor of the war.

No it wouldn't. This is a necessary war and,
unfortunately, you can't win a war without loss of life. Sometimes we just have to pay the
price for freedom.

No. It would only reafirms my current
believe that bombing the heck out of a poor country isn't going to solve anything.

probably.
but if someone i knew died as the result of the terorism, i'd be in favor of the war. the
world really revolves around me, you know.

To be honest, I am not in favor of it
currently. A death of a close friend would only make me question it even more.

If i was previously in favor of the war I
dont think it would change my mind. Beacuse they would have died for a cause i
supported and in a very noble way. However, I am not supporting this war I dont
think it is very smart.

I'm rarely in favor of war--for the exact
reason that loved ones and innocents die. In this case I don't really blame the U.S.,
though. The attacks that started all this were completely uncalled for. Still, I don't
think I can answer the question properly, because like I said, I'm a make-love-not-war
kinda gal.

Ok, is this person in the military or no?
I'm not sure either would matter, my view might still be the same. If the person were in
the military, then I would know they died doing what they wanted to do, keeping this land
safe, and I would have to allow them their wishes and not begrudge them dying in service.
If this person was an innocent, say on a plane or in the Trade Towers, then I can see
myself being pretty livid about it and wanting something done. I'm not completely sure war
is the right way to do things, but at the same time we need to prove our strength and let
it be known that we're not going to lie down and let people walk on us.
