How do you keep
cool in the summer? While inside, I run the a/c and the fans 24/7. While
outside... well, let's just say I don't go outside during the summer very much ;)

Movie Theaters, Ice Cream, Beach at
night, Rain, & Cool Showers
Jami, 27
Lowell, MA
I stay inside, where my polar bear bf keeps
it even cooler than I need it.
Firelady, 22

By being extremely lazy. A fan also helps,
and swimming.
Alias Irrelevante
As little AC as possible. Windows closed,
shades down to keep a cave like cool. Loose clothes, little movement, fans, swimming when
possible, trips to the movie theatre and grocery store. Usually break out the AC for a
brief 5-10 day period.

Somerville, MA
Air Conditioning.
Kevin, 33
Sugar Hill, GA
The most efficient way to stay cool
in the summer is to maintain a normal weight. Extra
poundage produces sweat--even when extra poundage is sitting absolutely still. Of course
air conditioning is an energy-expensive alternative.
Jill, 59
Saylorsburg, PA
Swim at the beach. Fans on high.
Shorts and loose t-shirts. Lot's of cold water and iced
tea.
Laura, 35
Lowell, MA
Air conditioning on the worst days, light
clothes, ice cream, going to the movies in the middle of the day, kiddie pools, lots of
cool drinks. My favorite is cucumber lime juice. You slice cucumbers and limes and pour
cold water over them into a pitcher and then let them marinate in the fridge for a few
hours. It sounds kinda gross but it has a really different flavor and is very refreshing.
Kathy, 26
Garden City, MI
Fortunately it never gets too hot where I
live, but when it does I wear less clothing and I try not to venture too far without a
drink of some sort.
Shanna, 15
Cardiff ENGLAND
I put on a fan, use ice, splash my
face with water if neccessary. That's about it. What
else can you do? ;-)
Aurora, 17
Montreal, Quebec CANADA
I usually
have the fan on in my room and the window open. Sometimes I'll sit on the backyard lawn
with my feet in our sprinkler, too.
Jeremy, 13
Highlands Ranch, CO
I don't, I tend to suffer badly when it's
hot - luckily it hardly gets very hot here.
Nikki, 27
Kirkham ENGLAND
I stand in front of an open freezer and
drink beer.

My fashionable dismissal of the Christian
mythos. pshaw And the fact that, deep down, I'm still both a Pepper and a Corey
Anthony, 25
Baton Rouge, LA
I eat lots of ice cream: Ben & Jerry's
Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and this summer I have stumbled across something new....Edy's
Dreamery "Nuts about Malt" (or something like that). Try it! It's
absolutely fantastic!
Susan, 31
Chicago, IL
Air
conditioning, generally. Wait. I mean, I'm cool all the time.
Karen, 20
Marshelltown/Ames, IA
I live in Oregon. Also,
air-conditioning, loose clothes, plenty of water.
Jane, 60
West Linn, OR
I love the summer..., love the heat!
Helena, 31
Sydney AUSTRALIA
Well, there aren't many days when you need
to cool off here in Washington, but the best way when you do need to is to hit the
nearest lake for some swimming. Slip N Slide is another essential.
Kate, 19
Bellingham, WA
Air conditioning, lots of water, popsicles,
cool showers.
Nicole
Elk Grove, CA
From what I can remember of last
summer...there was NO way to stay cool. Though I try my best to stay cool by
drinking lots of liquids and staying in the ocean!
Tracy, 24
