What is the next book you are going to read?

I'm just finishing Phantom of the Opera. Well, I finished it, but I'm only halfway through the essay at the end. My husband and I are working on The People of the Valley (or something to that effect) by Frank Waters; next, we'll probably start The Nurture Assumption. And I've preordered Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Plus, I'm reading other stuff. . .

That's an easy one.... the manual for our brand new food processor. I know that doesn't usually qualify as a book, but it might as well!

Not sure yet... I've read all of the books I have (over 100 of them). Dean Koontz has a new one I'd like to read and I'd also like to read a book called "I, Lucifer". I read a review on it and it sounded good.

My next non-fiction read will be Tony Hillerman's autobiography. As for fiction, I just acquired a batch of requested murders from the library and I'll have to see what book appeals this evening.

I'm looking forward to starting Oryx & Crake by Margaret Atwood in a few days after I finish my current book.

I'm not sure. I have several waiting for me to read and review.

There are about a dozen books on my "to read" shelf, the usual mix of mysteries, SF, and more serious fiction and nonfiction. Two of the most interesting are Anna Qunidlen's Blessings, and A Cup of Light, by Nicole Mones.

I was just wondering that myself. I'm reading East of Eden by John Steinbeck and I'm almost done.

The guy who wrote The Prince of Tides - Conroy - wrote a book called "My Losing Season" about his senior year playing college basketball. Many more layers than just sports. Southern pride,
dad-son relationships, win one for the Gipper, all that jazz...

The second Harry Potter book.

Dead Boys by ...the same guy that wrote Dead Girls and Dead Things.

The next book is Cathedral (Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Mission Gamma, book 3 of 4).

I haven't really decided, as I'm reading 2 things at the same time at the moment as it is - What the
Victorians did for us by Adam Hart-Davis and The new version of The Diskword companion (Terry Pratchett and Stephen Briggs). Imay have another stab at reading Ghormenghast I think.

It seems like I never have time to read anymore but as soon as I can FIND some time or MAKE some, I'm going to read "Focal Point: A Proven System to Simplify Your Life, Double Your Productivity, and Achieve All Your Goals" by Brian Tracy.

I'd like to read "Good Harbor" by Anita Diamant. It's on reserve at the library, but I don't know when it will be in.

Laura, 38

The Future of Life, by Edward O. Wilson. Mr. Wilson is a Pulitzer Prize winning author who has written several books. This one deals with environmental issues...his specific ideas on how to economically preserve our environment.

I just started "The Hottest State" by Ethan Hawke. I love that book. I've read it a million times.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

I should be reading John Piper's "Desiring God," but since the new Harry Potter book comes out soon, I'm re-reading all of the books. So technically, the next book I'll be reading is the 3rd book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
