Hmm... probably recreation centers, or all purpose facilities... that way you can have a lot of different activities scheduled for everyone...

Places like the community technology center are pretty important and the parks services keep the kids healthy and busy.

First, a good library, to feed my constant reading habit. Also a swimming pool, so I can get my favorite form of exercise.

The local supermarket, I couldn't live without it, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Also the library as I love reading.

The Boys & Girls Club is VERY important to me, I have been a member there for two years and have now recently acquired a job there. I really enjoy playing with and helping out the younger children who go there. I feel any Boys & Girls Club and any town is a valuable asset to its community.

The library!! I do research for school there - and research for work.  I use the books there and they get books from distant libraries that I need. My husband and I both get books for pleasure or books to learn from there at least once a week. We rent movies for us and movies for our child there. And at least once a week I go there with my son - he gets some books and we play in the child play area. Then we go to the quiet room for a bottle and a story. He also knows all the librarians by now and has a wonderful  social time there. So - I would definately have to say - the library!!!

The library.
Regular trash pick up and recycling (although I don't think this is what was intended by the question.)
Community parks.
Museums.
Adequate parking downtown.
Community activities like festivals or public concerts.

Since I've reached the pinnacle of my prime, I value good neighbors, good medical facilities and a good library.

I don't (can't) drive so the first thing I look for is the bus lines.
