Do you fear flying?

Nope. I wish I had wings!!

No. I LOVE to fly. I'm flying to the San Diego Zoo in October.

Although I am afraid of heights, I don't fear flying. Go figure.

For my old job, I used to leave every monday morning (on a flight) and come back home every friday night (on a flight). I did that for almost 3 years. When I first started that job, I was a bit weary of flying. After a month of it, I just wanted to get there and get back and didn't think twice about getting on the plane.

No. In fact, if I had the resources, I'd take flying lessons.

I haven't enjoyed flying since the crash over Lockerbie, which hit a little too close to home -- my daughter was attending a Scottish university at the time. I don't fear it, though, just regard it as a necessity. I regret that it is no longer a pleasure.

Of course. That's what makes for a civilized society. Being impolite just because you don't like someone is rude.

Before Sept. 11th, I had inhibitions about flying but not in the sense that I was afraid the plane would crash. Just this thing I have about feeling "trapped" in any situation. Post Sept. 11th, I feel even a less thrilled about getting on a plane (for obvious reasons).... but if I absolutely HAD to

Fisch, 47

Nah. I fear crashing.

Nicci, 27

No. Although I do get nervous in turbulence.

Laura, 37

I am not fond of flying. I just can not believe that those huge hunks of metal stay up in the air. But I am proud to say, I did fly after Sept. 11th

Janet, 44

Not at all.

It's not the worst thing I am afraid of, but I don't like it.

Tracy, 24

Not particularly.

Actually, I love flying. I guess that's because I don't  do it very often. 9/11 makes me think a little more thoroughly about what's going on, but there isn't any fear.

I'm not afraid of flying. My mother used to pilot small planes, and I remember going with her sometimes. What I am afraid of, though, is of losing someone on a flight. I don't want my girlfriend to fly without me, or me without her, because the plane might crash. It's always fine, of course, but if it had to crash I'd want both of us to be there.

I have always feared flying. Went to Mexico 30 years ago, that was the first and last time to fly. And now days-no way.

Personal thoughts and expressions of my life at this time: I really hate my job and i'm desperately trying to stay positive. It's difficult to smile and act like I'm coping well. I feel like George on Seinfeld; working extremely hard at looking busy. If only I could get a cot built under my desk....

Janet2

No, I do not fear flying.

Even though I know my chances of being hurt in a car accident are much higher  than being hurt in a plane crash, I still fear flying and have never been on an airplane.

Sarah Jane, 15

No. I'm claustrophobic, so I don't like most planes, but flying is okay. I like flying.

Karen, 22

No. Actually I take scenic/photo flights fairly often now.

I think I'm a little more apprehensive about it, but no...I dont fear flying.

Nope. I get somewhat antsy during takeoff and landing, but it's just normal antsy-ness and not really fear. The only downside of flying for me is the pressure in my ears. For some reason they never want to pop so I can't hear clearly for up to a few hours after the flight.

Hikaru, 19

I don't enjoy flying, but I don't fear it either.
