Do you tend to exaggerate?

No. Part of my style of humor is understatement.

Cathie, 53
Novi, MI USA

Never. Well, hardly ever.

Jill, 61
Saylorsburg, PA USA

Sometimes - just to emphasize my point, especially when I don't get the reaction I am expecting from the other party. I have been working on fixing this lately though...

Henry, 26
New Brunswick, NJ USA

I catch myself doing that all the time when I'm telling stories, but it's ok. I doubt anybody really believes me.

A-Dog, 20
Eugene, OR USA

I exaggerate only the drama. Never the facts.

Cristin, 25
Frisco, TX USA

I hate exaggerations. My mother does it all the time so I try NEVER to do it. Not saying that I never have but its very very rare.

Em, 16
Harrisburg, PA USA

I tend to exaggerate when I'm joking and teasing...and sometimes when I'm angry.

Tam

I don't think so. Maintaining a sense of proportion is important to me and so is honesty.

Jane, 63
West Linn, OR USA

I've been known to exaggerate, but usually give myself up shortly thereafter by saying "okay so maybe I'm exaggerating." For the types of stories I relate about my life, I don't usually find a need to!

Fisch, 47
Preston, CT USA

No. I pretty much tell it the way I see it.

Janet, 45
E. Brunswick, NJ USA

Yes I do (or should I say "I did"). But I finally realized it a few years ago and now I can almost
always catch myself. It's hard, though, as I tend to be enthusiastic about things and am always saying that "I love" this or "I hate" that; "I never" do this or "I always" do that.

Reba, 57
Gaithersburg, MD USA

Sometimes. It depends what I'm talking about, but I do it quite casually in conversation.

Aly, 17
Cardiff UK

Embellish, mayhaps. I am a storyteller by nature, so I like to make the stories as interesting as possible. I am a journalist by profession, so I always stick as close to the truth as I can.

Cindy, 41
VA USA

Maybe sometimes. But always so people know I'm doing it.

Judy, 62
Easton, KS USA

Sometimes I "pad" but not to the point of lieing.

Stephanie, 27
TX USA

Maybe a bit (especially in hyperbole), but I think in general I'm pretty honest & straighforward.

Karen, 23
Ames, IA USA

I never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Laura, 38
Lowell, MA USA

If anything, I tend to understate things. I can get a bit melodromatic at times.

Felicia, 37
Lowell, MA USA

I actually lean towards understatement.

Alias Irrelevante

Yeah I do exaggerate. I'd say that I do it about a billion times a day, but, you know...

Keri-Jade, 23
Brampton, Ontario CANADA

I'd say all the time, but that would be an exaggeration. Actually not that often.
