Do you trust your mechanic?

Sure, but then again, I don't have a car. If I did, I wouldn't trust him.

I don't trust any of them. I've been ripped off too many times.

Our car is serviced and repaired by the main dealer so they are more trustworthy than smaller garages. I haven't had any complaints about their level of service either. SO I guess I do trust them.

I trust my unofficial mechanic with my Jeep and my life. I trust my official mechanic to intentionally screw stuff up so I'll have to come back.

Yes. I must. I am mechanically illiterate.

I had a mechanic which I thought I trusted until they changed the oil  and then it leaked incessantly until it was all gone and my engine blew out.

The guy I brought the car to after that was (is) good, but even with him the engine had to be replace two more times, along with the alternator, exhaust system, and rear brakes. That car was jinxed.

I would certainly bring my current car to my car guy. I'm hoping that won't happen for a very long time.

Yup, but he's an hour from me. If he does a good job, then it's worth it!!

I don't really have one to trust.

Yes and no. I don't have a specific one, so that makes it harder.  Sometimes it's dad. I trust my dad. Sometimes it whichever oil change place is closest. I watch them like hawks. Big work has always been done by ppl my dad trust, so that hasn't really been an issue.

I don't even have a mechanic. The closest I have to one is a landlady...and nope, I'd rather trust a serial killer then her.

It's so sad. I used to trust my mechanic. Actually, it was the shop where I brought my car... But a in the spring of 1999 I noticed my car was burning oil and asked them to check it out and tell me what to do. They told me not to worry about it. Then 4 months later, the engine seized because it drastically lost oil.

So, now I have another car that I purchased through Mom's Used Car Lot and financed through the Bank of Mom. This past April, my husband and I stopped for a light and heard a tremendous rattle coming from the front end.   I brought it in to the shop, told them the sad story. They found nothing. Well, a few weeks ago, I brought the car in to another shop that recharges airconditioner. They called to tell me that the air conditioner was the least of my worries... two motor mounts were broken. That's when I decided it was time to end my relationship with my first mechanic.

Not really, but I don't know how to fix my own car, so whatever he does is better than what I can do!

HELL NO!!!!!!!

I would have to say not. I do not have a personal mechanic at this time, but to me they are like doctors. You should always get a second opinion.

No!

I don't trust anyone that's an expert on something that I know nothing about, especially when I need to pay that person money and put my entire faith in them. Besides, every mechanic I've ever met has tried to screw me over. I eitherbecome a total bitch (the toyota dealership around here gets antsy when I show up) or I get my Daddy to come with me.

Not much, my car is leaking cheap wine.

I don't currently have a mechanic. . .

I don't have a mechanic because I don't have a car because I'm not old enough to drive *scowl*. But if I did have a car and I did have a mechanic, I don't see why I wouldn't trust him. If I didn't, I'd just find one that I did trust.

I don't have a regular mechanic because I live too far away from the last good one I knew.

Alias Irrelevante

I definately trust my mechanic, since he is my dad!!q

Of course I trust my mechanic. He's my dad's best friend and I have known him for about 10 years.
