How would you like your remains handled after you die?

Gosh, what is with all the death questions ...this stuff totally creeps me out...I go through this stuff every time my folks go on vacation...or have a medical thing...Speaking for myself, when I croak, the ideal situation...is to be set out on a iceberg, when I get old, or useless, so I can die that way...that rules

The only thing I know for sure is that there is one funeral guy in town I would not send my body to because his hobby is taxidermy. I could imagine being stuffed and stood in the corner in one of those bear stances. eek. Seriously, I am an organ donor and beyond that I don't think it matters much because it's just flesh.

This is a sensitive issue for some people but I'm not one of them. I tend to be very practical and I come from a very practical family and I'd like to do what my father did. He willed his body to the local medical school and when he died, the school came and picked up the body. I don't what they did after they finished dissecting it. All I know is that it didn't cost anyone a cent. There was a short memorial service and that was all.

I am not sure right at this moment. I guess I would want to be buried.

I'd probably like to be cremated and have my ashes put someplace special. I always want to be near my husband, so hopefully my ashes would go someplace where his could too.

I'll leave it up to the judgment of my family, but I lean toward cremation, with a simple memorial service.

I want my body to be donated to medical science.

Wills and body disposal... my, we're getting morbid on here. Still, a good question, I would like to remain as intact as possible... and would prefer burial in a mortuary as opposed to 6 feet under or in a mantlepiece urn. How Freudian is that? The ultimate denial.

Cremation and then sprinkled at sea. Pretty simple and straightforward and the more specific you are, the less hassle and increased pain your family must go through.

I have already bought a plot at a new and local cemetery. Enough said.

Before my Dad died I always felt I had to have a wake and then a funeral and then have my body buried. After my Dad died I want to do exactly what my mom did and be cremated and then have a small memorial service. It was so much easier on the whole family, than going to a wake for
4 hours a day for two days, and sit and look at a dead person. Instead I want everyone to go to camp or some place they love and have fun with the people that are still alive.

I think i'd like to be buried in a casket.

I would like for my body to be tossed out into the back yard so wild animals could chew me up.

Wonder Boy

Either donated to science or spread out at the hundredth meridian.

LOL! What a question to be asked right as I'm going into the hospital for a kidney transplant! Well, anyhow...I think I'd like to be cremated and have my ashes scattered over Baxter State Park in Northern Maine. I haven't really given much thought to this, but I definitely prefer cremation to
the morbid thought of my body rotting away underground in a smelly old casket!

My organs donated, my body cremated, the remains buried with my parents, my worldly goods given to good people and good causes. I do think it is important for folks to gather though. Apart from my sister's wedding, one of the best family gatherings I participated in was the time after my Dad died.

Felicia, 37

Just a regular funeral and burial, I guess. I don't really care much since I won't be around. My family can do whatever they want.

Judy, 62

I'd like as many of my organs as possible donated and the rest cremated. I don't want a big expensive casket. I would like to have jazz played at the funeral and I'd like a funeral luncheon with dim sum instead of the food my church provides.

Cathie, 53

I'd like to be cremated and have the ashes buried in a cemetery with an appropriate marker.

Laura, 38

Because of two bouts of cancer, my organs aren't suitable for transplant. My wish is that my body be donated for medical research and then cremated. I would have no objection to my ashes spending a transition time in a well-run compost pile.

Preserved and turned into a puppet, like they did with Mr. Burns in the episode where Homer was a pothead.

lightly. i don't really care. somebody can toss 'em off a bridge if they want. i'm not gonna be needing them.

One day for a wake. Then you can cremate me and scatter my ashes in the lake by my house. I can not see paying all that money for a grave plot or stone. I would rather be remembered by my family and friends memories.

i buy those gallon jugs of drinking water. the stuff that comes out of my tap looks like a snow globe.

I would like to be fed to the wolves.

My family knows that if bugs are going to be near me I will haunt them. I want to be burned and planted with some daffodils.

Not sure really. If I'm in an urn..they can get lost or somthing. If I get buried, you just become one in a field of other headstones.

Stephanie, 25

I want mey remains buried in our local cemetery where I have lived the last 26 years. But I am a organ donor and hope that some part of me can be used after my death.
