What sort of neurotic tendencies do you have?

To be perfectly honest, I have my fair share of neurotic tendencies: I am so paranoid about getting fired, despite being employed in my job for 2 years, that I rarely take more than half a lunch hour. I am neurotic in my obsession with loyalty. Once I find stores I like, I am loyal to them to the point that I do not go anywhere else, regardless of convienence and what not. Finally, I am neurotic because I, for whatever reason, do not get refills of soda when I eat out, for fear of putting the host out, regardless of how thirsty I am. Just a few of my neurotic tendencies.

I tend to over-prepare in a vain effort to forestall chaos--which is always lurking at the bounds of civilization. My penchant for hoarding is probably part of the same complex.

I scratch the skin off my head. My skin gets dried out, and then it itches. . .I'm trying to quit. : )

I feel compelled to get my car as close to the curb as possible. I find myself unable to let a stack of crooked magazines go unstraightened on a coffee table. I must make my bed in the morning and feel imcomplete when I just let it go. I scratch my head and pick at my feet. Basically, I have a bunch of issues surrounding order and control, none of which seem out of the ordinary or impact on others, I think.

i insist that everything must be clearly defined. So what did you mean by neurotic?

*grin* What neurotic tendencies DON'T I have? My boyfriend and several of my friends have an adorable nickname for me: OC (as inobsessive compulsive). Hmm... let's see. All of my CDs and books are organized by theme, and I can find any of them rather easily. I'm a compulsive cleaner, I get obsessed with things like books or movies and HAVE TO find them immediately, and I ask my boyfriend things like "what sort of neurotic tendencies do I have?" and then give him suggestions :)

I hate having wrinkled sheets and blankets on my bed. I hate having junk on the floor, I'm convinced that I will trip over it and fall.

(Gee, why do you two losers really care?. .)  I think I'm more obsessive/compulsive than neurotic. . .I've also been diagnosed as mildly bi-polar. . .

I guess I am afraid of getting too close to people sometimes. . .I am afraid of being caught in a place without my magic plastic bag of junk that I carry around with me everywhere. . .I have a walkman, a discman, reading materials,a change of shirt and all sorts of over the counter meds. . .I like to be prepared for whatever might come up, even though I don't use most of it. . ...

(Yeah, I'd say that's fairly neurotic. .)

I can't leave the house with the bed unmade. That neurosy is courtesy of my mother.

The kind of neurotic tendencies that prevent me from telling you what they are.

Probably a lot. I tend to be a very mean person whenever I get out of bed before noon. Does that count? I was diagnosed with OCD and ADHD when I was a kid, but I don't hold much stock in official diagnoses. I was one of the early victims of the new fad in education: drug your students, and they won't goof off in class!
