If some legal, political, social or medical condition required you to have a 2 inch by 2 inch tattoo in the middle of your forehead, what tattoo would you choose?

I think if I were required to place some sort of symbol that large on my forhead, I would choose something round. Perhaps a starburst or a celtic know or an I-ching. The one thing that would make the symbol more dynamic and interesting would be the ability for the symbol to be imprinted with mood ink. That way it would always be changing colors and somehow be linked to my current state of being.

If the tattoo was permanent, Christ on the cross.

I'd rather I had to have a long thin one on my arm, because I'd kind of like a flower pattern in a circle around my upper arm (the pattern of my security blanket, actually). But if I had to get one in the middle of my forehead, that size, I'd either try to incorporate the same flower pattern or I'd get a Celtic one.

I normally would not put a tatoo on my forehead. My son, on the other hand, would love to. Do you have a catalog you could send to show me what his options are?

Any legal, political, social or medical condition requiring a 2"x2" tattoo would't permit much leeway as to what sort of tattoo. Hester Prinn was not the only woman with a Scarlet A. Every prisoner in the Nazi death camps had a number--each a different number, but a number all the same. A medically required tattoo would presumably encode medical information.

Tattoos for "social" reasons--particularly for the young would be as regimented as tattoos required for any other reason. If I had to march through life with some piece of mass produced individuality on my forehead, I'd opt for a mandella of some sort.

There's absolutely no way you could get me to put a tattoo on my forehead. Besides, I don't subscribe to social or political ideals.
