Who is/was the most "colorful" character in your family?

Jem and Bee.

Keri-Jade, 23
Brampton, Ontario CANADA

My mormon aunt. She's had like 5 or 6 marraiges, 3 of them to the same man. She's a depressed, flaky ex-alcoholic who recently moved to florida to move in with some man she met off the internet..

My Uncle Mike. His stories are so colorful and obsurd! But true!!! Tells them great too!!!!

Christine, 37
Syracuse, NY USA

I don't know about colorful, but my Aunt Margaret is certainly quirky. She is my one single aunt and has very particular ways of doing things. Yet she has a strong personality and collects tons of things (ceramic shoes, glass paper weights, salt and pepper shakers, etc). Her house is chuck full of stuff.

Felicia, 37
Lowell, MA USA

That's a tough one. My family is full of colorful characters. My sister Janet's entire family (including Janet) is wacky. Then there's my Aunt Stella; she was a little nutty, too. Then there's the funny uncle. My father was weird. I don't think I can single any one out of the crowd.

Laura, 38
Lowell, MA USA

ME! Actually, it would be either me or my brother JT. Were the most off the wall people in our family.

Em, 16
Harrisburg, PA USA

I'd say I am. But I guess we're all pretty colorful in different ways. I'm most like my dad.

A-Dog, 20
Eugene, OR USA

There are many in my husband's family, including him. My family was more sedate. My paternal grandfather must have been, but he died of syphilis when my father was a boy. We only found that out recently.

Judy, 62
Easton, KS USA

My brother, Mike, is a 'free spirit.' Mike served in the Marines and every two years, he and his son were transferred to another base. That meant a lot of packing and unpacking so instead of unpacking suitcases and putting things away in the new house, Mike just emptied all his suitcases in the middle of the living room. When he needed something, he dug through the pile until he found it, wore it and THEN put it away. It worked for him.

Reba, 57
Gaithersburg, MD USA

I come from a long line of strong minded women. We're not colorful--we simply know our own minds and our proper places in universe.

Jill, 61
Saylorsburg, PA USA

My family doesn't seem to run to very colorful characters. I can't think of any who stand out.

Jane, 63
West Linn, OR USA

My great grandmother. She was the first communist mayor in Britain.

Aly, 17
Cardiff UK

I do not know if I am really qualified to answer this question...but whatever. The most successful person in my family, in terms of my generation, is a much easier question to answer, that would be my brother...natch...it would depend on what you mean by colorful...most people in my family, present company excluded...certainly, I am the least normal of anybody in my family...but that was not what the question asked...whatever.

Frodo, 31
Modor

Probably either me or my dad.

Doug2, 30
Kansas City, KS USA

Without a doubt, it would be me. And I have a sister who is a professional clown so that's going some!

Fisch, 47
Preston, CT USA

Uh. . .I don't know. They all have their quirks.

Karen, 23
Ames, IA USA

My paternal grandfather, Jesse. He played steel guitar with Hank Williams, Sr., drove around in a cherry red 1950's Chevy pickup truck, took his dog, Boo-Boo (who was a little white teacup poodle) everywhere he went, raised Palomino horses, entertained my sister and I by "playing the spoons" and singing bluegrass, planted beautiful flower gardens every spring...and lots more stuff. He was a wonderful man who passed away too soon.

Tam

Probably me - unfortunately!

Keri-Jade, 23
Brampton, Ontario CANADA

Well, my entire is rather silly. we all have our own special touches and comical. I think it's genetic.

Stephanie, 25
TX USA

I have to admit that it is me and my family. I am the wacky Aunt Janet. My husband is a bit kooky and my kids are definitely characters. I mean this is the house with the rubber chicken on the dining room light, pink flamingos on the lawn, well they were on the lawn until the kids put the wire legs down the well and then my husband nailed the birds onto a tree. We have year
round party lights hanging up outside not around a pool but around the patio. (I just love the colors).

Janet, 45
E. Brunswick, NJ USA

If I have a super power, it has not developed yet.

Lisa J., 25
TN USA

That's a hard question to answer.

Was it my Dad who could talk to a wall if no one was around to talk to? Was it Uncle Freddie who loved his snappa zuccas? (Drinks) Was it all my Aunts and Uncles who would play cards and either
take it too seriously or not seriously enough and have arguments? The cards tell a story? ( drinks were involved here too) My mother? She always go confused and called appliances by other names, the microwave was the dishwasher? Or because she would let my son play doggie
with her by putting a lease on her and he would take her for a walk?

Aunt Laura who lets her neice and nephews do thing that we would never let our kids do?

The list is endless, we have a very colorful family.
