What temperature do you set the thermostat at your house?

74 degree F

Stephanie, 25
TX USA

I prefer 67-68 degrees during the day when I'm active and 70 degrees in the evening. These settings are not universally popular among the indigenous population.

In the winter, we keep the temperature between 70 and 72. Summer, between 75 and 80.

Reba, 57

right now it is at 72. In summer I put it up a few notches to 75-78.

Negative 41 degrees fahrenheit...I think..or whatever the temperature of absolute zero...okay, slight exaggeration...at least that is what the temperature is during the winter...in what I call the 'frozen tundra'...doesn't bother me, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger...

70 degrees F. (Unless it gets really cold and then I'll bump it up a degree or two.

It's at 74 degrees Fahrenheit right now. We turned it up because 72 seemed too cold; then my husband turned it down to 73 because he was too warm; then we got a new frog who was used to 76-degree water and turned up the temperature for his benefit. Fascinating story, huh?

Well, it's usually set somewhere between 65 and 67. But we do use sweaters or extra blankets instead of cranking it higher when we get chilly. When going to bed at night we push it down a little more and when leaving for work and school in the daytime, we drop it to about 62 for the day; the cats give us dirty looks.

Fisch, 47
Preston, CT USA

In the winter the thermostat is at 68 when I'm home and awake and 60 when I'm not. In the summer it's at 78 when I'm home (for the air conditioning).

Cathie, 53

`During the winter it's set at 70 degrees. During the summer, we usually set it at 74 or so.

around 68 degrees, with the window open and the fan on in the middle of winter. I don't pay utilities.

A-Dog, 20

We leave it at 72 in the winter. And about 68 in the summer.

Janet, 45

We used to keep it at 70 during the winter, but the last oil bill was $374, so my husband has pushed it down to 66.

Laura, 38
Lowell, MA USA

69 when we are home and 63 at night or when we are away. I wish I could keep it at 80 all the time, but I don't have the money for that!

Tracy, 24

My thermostat is programmable. It is set at 60 degrees at night, 68 in the early morning and evening, and 65 during the day.
