If
you were a dog and being trained to jump through a hoop, would you try to please your
master and do the trick as taught, or would you do it your way and either stay right where
you are or perhaps take the easy way and walk around?A rather odd question.
If I were a dog, I probably wouldn't know any better and do as I was taught. If I were
able to take my personality with me into the life of the dog, it would depend on my
master. If my master was good to me and loved me and I loved my master, then yes, I would
do as I was taught, if my master was mean, I'd have to change things up a bit.

The real question is: would I get a cookie
for jumping through the hoop?

Would a dog really put that much thought
into something like this, or would they just go for the food??

I think for comic factor i would walk around
but then i would probably jump through the other side

I would do like the Legendary Big
Guys Sarge...who, in obediance class, when the dogs
were supposed to jump through a hoop, he walked up to the hoop, but saw that he could get
to the same plade by going around, which is what he did...he was not a Pavlovian dog, and
neither am I...I will do it my way....and that's the bottom line...although I do like
doing things the hard way...hey, whatever.

I've spent the better part of my life trying
to please others but hopefully that is FINALLY beginning to change. But old habits die
slowly so I would undoubtedly try to please my master by jumping through the damn hoop
(but after a few months of being a 'good dog', I'd just walk around it. After all, why
strain myself?)

I suppose it depends how hungry I was....but
I believe in any case, I'd probably try to please my master and do the trick as
taught . Cute question.

I'd probably take the easy way and walk
around.

I'd assume it was my job and do the
trick as best I could.

Well theres my vote for strangest question
so far. If the "master" were on the other side I'd jump through seeing as how
that's the quickest route to their jugular.

Depends on the size of the hoop and how much
I liked the person teaching me. If it were a small hoop, I'd ignore it. If the person
didn't treat me kindly, I'd avoid the whole situation. But if there were a big hoop and a
nice person and some treats involved, I'd probably jump.

I'd either jump through the hoop or sit
stubbornly still and not do anything.

I'm a "people-pleaser" person, so
I am sure that I would do all sorts of tricks to keep my owner happy if I were a dog.

I'd probably do it my own way. I am not very
compliant.

My cooperation would probably depend on the
skill of the trainer.

Well...I'm not really sure dogs are
smart enough to have their own free will about stuff like that or whatever...but if this
is an analogy for the way I handle situations in life-I
would probably do it my own way. I usually seem to not pay attention to instructions and I
hate to slack and take the easy way out-I learned most of my lessons "the hard
way" but at least I learned them on my own and without having to do what I was told
and not think for myself.

Well, if
I were a dog I would not have the ability to make such conscious decisions. But I don't
suppose that's a relevant part of this question. I suppose I would jump through the hoop
to prove to my master that I am capable of it and once I've done that I'd jump through or
not jump through, regardless of what he/she wanted.

Knowing me I would probably do
it my way and skip the treats.

It would
depend on whether or not I liked the person that was trying to get me to do the trick. If
I liked the person, and they were good to me, I would consider doing it. I mean, why not?
He's nice to me and takes good care of me, sure I wouldn't mind doing something simple and
stupid to give the silly human a few moments of entertainment. But if I didn't like the
silly human, I would walk around to the other side just to piss'em off. Hey, if they don't
listen to you when you bark cause you need to go outside to pee so you won't mess up their
carpet, and if they don't listen when you let them know you're hungry, then why should you
listen to them? So I would let them know that i'm not stupid, that I fully understood what
they asked me to do, but I would rather take the easy way and walk around just to let them
know that they're not worth it. He he.

I'd try to do it my way.

If the master was kind and and polite me and
my fellow dogs, I'd try,but if he forced me, I'd do it my own way. It all depends.

If I were
a dog, I wouldn't be me, so I'd probably have a very different answer to this question
than I'm about to give. The way I feel about it as me, though, is that I wouldn't have a
master to begin with.
