If you could have the skills of a professional athelete, what position and sport would you pick?

I'd loke to be a hockey player, because a) I wish I could ick skate like a pro and b) I would love to be able to carry a big stick and slam people into walls or knock some teeth out all in the name of sport.

Sorry... feeling a bit violent today.

I've never been particularly sports minded either as a competitor or a spectator. The professional athletic skill that I most admire is the discipline to achieve and to maintain physical fitness. Of course, this is still possible for me.

Tennis.

I played when I was a teen ager and got out of the habit. Now I don't have anyone to play with. So sad.

I don't think I would want to be a professional athlete. A GOOD athlete, yes, but I wouldn't want running around sweating to be my main source of income. Unless I worked in deconstruction, which I think would be a great way to get out my aggressions.

I wouldn't choose a sport, I'd choose pro wrestling. And since the question is 'athlete' and not 'sports star' I can. Position would be 'heel' (badguy). A sport is an athletic competition. Wrestling is athletic but the competition aspect is closer to stock trading than rugby.

I would like to be a gymnast.

I think I would choose a Football player. THey get the most money and hopefully I would be able to play for the Cowboys.

I would join the PBA and go against the best there is in professional bowling. My average is around 180-190.

I'm assuming you mean something along the lines of football, baseball, basketball, etc. Those don't really interest me, but I'd love to be a rhythmic gymnast.

long distance track... I've always admired those people who can run steady long distances. I can run pretty fast for about 200 metres, but that's it.

Track/running i suppose. It would be cool to be able to run, to have all that stamina. Being flexible like a gymnast would be fun too tho. :)

Lastly, if I could, I would like to be special teams football play (like Bill Bates). They have to be completely insane to play special teams, love to hit and be hit...it is a great way to get out aggression.

Bruno barges in: "Hey man, you are freaking people out. Stop it!" Bruno hit Mick in the head with a steel chair, knocking him on the floor. Then, he puts him in the Crippler Crossface as he begs for mercy. Finally, he taps out, and Bruno release the hold, and Mick is left lying in a heap on the ground." sic. This little scenario is a product of my warped, twisted imagination.

I'd have all the finesse and athleticism of Venus or Serena Williams. I'd be able to fly across the court, make killer serves, and do it all gracefully.

Does it matter? Any way you go you can't loose. It seems to me, you can be any athlete and bite, rob, fight, main or kill and get away scott free (and/or go to Disney Land) Wahoo!

I'd LOVE to be a professional cyclist! I can't drive but if I could ride a bike (I can't), I'd be able to go places and see things. This would greatly facilitate my role in life which is that of "observer".

I have no desire to have the skills of a professional athlete, though I might enjoy the pay check.

Well, does gymnastics count? I would love to flip and fly throught the air like that. It looks like fun. But if your talking about stuff like tennis, and football, then I'd go with volleyball. It was fun in highschool. But I was never much into sports.

Either track (100m sprint), gymnastics, or tennis

I would want to play defense in hockey, just like my favorite hockey player, Derian Hatcher.
