If you could only own what you could carry, what would you own?

Doesn't that question answer itself? Obviously I would own what I am carrying!

clothes, food, water, the essentials of life

If I could only own what I could carry, I would own a big fat coat for those cold days, a nice pair of walking shoes, a fork, spoon & knife, and a backpack to carry those little things I would need. And this is all assuming I don't have a place to live.

If I don't own what I have, but rather someone else provides these things for me, then do I really need anything? Having the things you need and want are fine, having these things provided are key. If it were the case that I had intentions to move away to another country never to return back to where I am leaving, and could only bring what I could carry then I would have with me things I own like some clothing, and a box full of my writings and things of sentimental value. If I could carry my boyfriend I would ;)

A few changes of clothes, a few old-friend books, basic toiletries, a light, warm sleeping bag, a handful of sentimental items (a locket, some photos), and a super light-weight computer.

I'd wear a pair of binoculars around my neck (I've been a birder for nearly 10 years and have gotten so I go nowhere without binoculars), and carry a laptop computer with all my genealogy in it. I'm always cold so I'd wear a sweater.

IF I COULD ONLY OWN WHAT I CAN CARRY I WOULD HAVE MY BIBLE AND FAMILY AND FRIENDS PHOTOS. THEY ARE THE MOST PRECIOUS TO ME. I WOULD ALSO CARRY MY CELL PHONE SO I COULD KEEP IN TOUCH OR MAKE EMERGENCY PHONE CALLS.

This makes me think of Ever After, when Danielle picks up the prince and starts carrying him off. . .I don't know, I think I'd have to go with a couple of well-stocked bags, but I wouldn't want to carry them all the time.

Man, this is a tough question: Although it would break my heart, I guess I could not take all 7 of my animals. I would have to choose Dylan because he is a beagle, although I would pray that the other animals would forgive me, because when I see them after I croak, I don't want them to be mad at me.

I assume you would allow me to carry a backback, so I can put stuff in there. That being the case: I would bring with me the Odyssey by Homer, and the Iliad, my favorite books of all time. Also, I would bring the "novels", unpublished albeit, that I have written, and I would bring paper and pen, so I can continue to write. Also, I would bring pictures of all my beloved animals, and I would bring the "casket" of Sarge and Axl, there are small, so I will have them with me at all times. Also, I would wear Axl's pin, of a cat, that the place gave me to remember Axl by. I would leave Shorty's casket for my mom, since she was her dog. Also, I suppose I should bring some attire, since some people would have a cow if I chose to go au natural.

A few pairs of clothes, a good pair of shoes, a small blanket, a sturdy bag, a camera, a notebook, and some pens. Hygenic stuff(of course),faith, hope, and a whole lotta love. PS...this is how i want to live as it is...regardless of IF's

Definitely my Palm Pilot. That would eliminate the need for books, puzzles, games, a datebook, an address book, etc. Everything else would go in as big a backpack as I could find.

I'd own a mini portable radio with earphones, 2 pairs of underwear, 2 pairs  of socks, a bra, a comfortable outfit, a bottle of Ice Mountain water, a superthin laptop, and a cell phone.

Something tells me this was originally a Survivor related question.  There's also a few variables on this, things like how am I carrying it (just in my hands or in a backback?), things I currently possess or anything? Of what I have now: notebooks (pens too I guess), pocket knife, compact food items, a couple of paperbacks that take forever to read but aren't boring (I'mthinking Russian), a lighter...and don't forget to dress in layers.

Alias Irrelevante

Very tough question...some photos of my daughter through the years...a small assortment of old cassettes and newer CDs and walkman, a toothbrush, some money, my pocketbook with all it's current contents, keys to my truck and house...and one suitcase filled with casual clothes and an extra pair of shoes. OH GOD...and a hairbrush!

Oh man... this question requires too much thought... what are the parameters? do I still have an income? access to the ATM? or is it a desert island type question? that makes answering this question easier.

I suppose it would depend on the situation. And if we are talking about carrying on my back or in a vehicle of some sort. If we are talking about continuing to live a day to day life with work and everything. A lightweight portable computer, cell phone,  a small collection of versitile clothing clothing that could be interchanged and go from winter to summer and day to night, a small toiletries bag filled with all the necessaries, a handful of photos and sentimental pieces of jewelry and small tokens, passport, driver's license, birth certificate, ATM, and credit cards . Pretty much everything else I could find, rent, or borrow from others.

if you mean carry in a back pack or something like that I guess I'd just have a couple shirts and a sweater and a walkman and a discman and some CD's and such. . .

Well, I could probably carry some clothes, some jewelry, a couple of cats, a few dogs on a leash, everything that means something to me, I would stuff in my pockets, my bag of weed, pictures, I could stuff a back-pak full, does that count? In that case, I could carry quite a bit.
