When does the holiday season start for you?

First of December.

When the malls start putting up trees and decorations, that's when it feels like christmas.

When I hear the dogs barking Jingle Bells on the radio...

The holiday season starts at the first Christmas party. For me, it will be December 4 this year.

The day before Thanksgiving. That's when we start getting ingredients for everything to make the next day!

Ashley, 20

It starts for me with Halloween--about the week or so before Halloween actually. Though I really hate it when the Christmas decorations are up before thanksgiving…

I don't know...probably when I start wrapping presents.

Normally, I would say "after Thanksgiving" but the radio station I listen to at work has begun playing Christmas music 24 hours/day, starting today. Just hearing Bing Crosby and Nat king Cole sing their Christmas hits, puts me in the Christmas mood.

Reba, 57
Gaithersburg, MD USA

The holiday shopping season starts for me at the end of October.

Melissa, 20
PA USA

Not before Thanksgiving! I am already tired of stores and houses decked out for Christmas. I'd appreciate all the decorations a lot more if they were confined to a period from mid-December until Twelfth Night.

Jane, 63

The first snow of the season. Nobody has a brush to clean off their car and they drive like, 50km's down the road.

When the traffic in Nashua, NH (Lowell's tax-free shopping district) gets backed up through Tyngsboro and into Chelmsford ( www.mapquest.com will help out any non-locals who might be curious).

Thanksgiving starts on Thanksgiving Day for me, and Christmas season seems to start about ten days before it.

Em, 16
Harrisburg, PA USA

I guess around now. It starts with Thanksgiving and then there is always parties, music and events leading up to Christmas. We celebrate New Years at our house. And afterwards, it's the doldrums. And winter sets in and it seems very bleak til spring.

October 30/31 - Samhain, the Pagan new year.

Firelady, 24

Usually the day after Thanksgiving is when I start thinking about Christmas -- shopping, decorating, etc.

Melodi, 19

I don't know. Thanksgiving, I suppose.

Karen, 23
Ames, IA USA

Over the years, I've learned to celebrate the charms of each season of the year, hence "the holiday season" doesn't really occur in my calendar.

Jill, 61
Saylorsburg, PA USA

The holiday season? Once Thanksgiving is over, my brain starts shifting into Christmas mode.

Jared, 0
Crestline, CA USA

I'm not sure if there is an exact time. I usually don't start getting into the Christmas spirit until a
couple weeks before Christmas. It just sort of happens.

Doug2, 30

When it's DECEMBER!

Tracy, 24

Thanksgiving week. And it doesn't stop until after Christmas.

Judy, 62

It doesn't start until I see the Detroit Thanksgiving Day parade.

Cathie, 53
