What are your thoughts on the recall election in California?

I think it's funny how many novelty runners there are, not to mention that it's a national issue among people who can't name their own governor.

Does farce imitate nature or does nature imitate farce?

Didn't know about it.

Not being in the UK I know nothing about it. I assumethis is the one Mr Terminator is standing in? We don't hear much about internal US politics here, not unless it's something that affects us in some way too.

There ought to be some basic qualifications for candidates besides the ability to collect signatures.

Has no effect on me.

I think I don't know what you're talking about. I couldn't kill the people who control the media, so I threw out my tv instead. If it's important, I'm sure Rolling Stone will fill me in.

What a circus! Only in California. I mean, Gary Coleman and Larry Flynt. Arnold looks good next to those bozos. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Too bad some unhappy folks with money can throw out a valid election. But a process is being followed and it all seems very legal. I will be dissappointed in the average Californian (and by
extension average citizen) if they go for the Hollywood star rather than a person with experience.

Very typical of California.

I don't really know anything about it but that it exists and that Arnold Schwartzenegger is involved.

Karen, 23

Sounds like a 3 ring circus. California up there with Florida fro credibility.

Janet, 45

I am completely entertained by all of it. It's almost as good as Clinton's impeachment.

Laura, 38

I have zero thoughts on that.

Keri-Jade, 23

I have no thoughts on this topic.

It's quite funny, even if the whole situation is quite solemn. If I was Californian I'd probably be rooting for Schwarznegger - his heart seems to be in the right place and I've read he's quite liberal on thorny issues like gun control, minority rights etc. It'd be great if he could go all the way to the top - I'd root for him over a homophobic prick like Al Gore or a laughing stock like Bush any day. I'll observe the whole fiasco with mild curiosity.

I haven't been bothering with politics lately...especially those of other states. If it concerns the environment, then I pay attention. If not...I don't really care.

Tam

It's a circus. I'm sure the Terminator will win, but I'm not sure that's a good thing. Better than Larry Flynt, though.

Part of me says it is great that it is back to the way the founders wanted it, where anyone could run for office. Part of me thinks it has become a joke with the entires of Arnold, Gary Coleman, and Gallagher, to name a few.
