Would
you geta smallpox vaccination if it were offered to the public? As I'm of a vintage
that was routinely vaccinated in childhood, I don't know that I'd need one, but I'd go
along with whatever the medical authorities recommended.

Nah, i dont think so. Seems like
paranoia.

I think that I had gotten it as a child. If
it is the one that left a scar on your arm (a little circle), then I had gotten it. My
kids? Yes, they have gotten every other shot, so why not that one!!

Not my bag...

Sixty years ago, I had a smallpox
vaccination. If there were any question of a limited supply of vaccine, I'd gladly go on a
waiting list.

I just read somewhere that it really isn't a
good idea because the reason they stopped giving the vaccination years ago is because the
side effects were getting out of hand and it just wasn't worth the risk. So unless there
was a serious outbreak around here, no, I wouldn't get it.
Tracy, 24

Not sure. Not overly frightened by
it at this point in time. Let me know when it becomes
public, I'll consider it.
Triana, 29

Only if there is enough proof that I
actually need it. At this point I would say no.
Ryan, 29

No. If an epidemic starts, I'll think about
it.

Uh, sure.
Doug2, 29

yes!
Stephanie, 25

yes i would - i get a flu shot, so
it wouldn't worry be.
Brad, 21

Depends. If there were a valid threat that
it was spreading at epidemic rates, sure. If not, and the side-effects were god awful? No.
Fisch, 47

They used to be routine, so I don't see why
not. I have to get vaccinated against everything else known to man for school, so what the
hell...

No
Laura, 37

I guess so. But I think I'm already
vaccinated for it.
Em, 16

Most likely. My family would probably make
my brothers and I get them, anyway, and I guess it's a good idea- better safe than sorry.
Jeremy, 14

Yes, I would. Who knows what the terrorists
will pull next?

Yes.

Sure..

I suppose so. I'd want to know the
downsides first though.

Sure, why not? Better safe than sorry.

sure

I'll have to see how the government handles
all the other bio-terror vaccinations first.
Alias Irrelevante
*shrug* How risky would it be? I don't want
smallpox. I guess I wasn't aware that I hadn't had one already. Seems like I've been
vaccinated for everything else.
Karen,

Good
question. I am not sure. I had the inoculation when I was a child. They
would line us up and vaccinate every child in the school. It leaves a
scar on your skin. I have mine on my upper arm, while other people I know
have it on their thigh. I wonder when they stopped giving the vaccinations?
I guess I would and I would probably get my kids vaccinated.
Janet,

Since
I don't consider myself at risk, I think it would be selfish to get something
that would be in
short supply. However, if one person's at risk in this country, we all
are, and it would be a better
idea for myself and everyone else to get it. It spreads rapidly, and it's
a terrible, terrible thing
to have. I think it's the second worse disease to ebola.
