What
do you keep in your car? Lots of garbage. Magazines. Empty soda cans. A little
change. Almost all my CD's. The trunk is full of cardboard boxes i havent gotten
around to recycling.
Talia, 25

Unfortunately, I share a car with a man who
has the trunk crammed so full of tools that there is no room for groceries. I keep a
walker in the back seat, a blanket in the trunk and the rest of my survival kit is in my
pocketbook.

Two road atlases, one of the U.S. and
another one that is detailed for eastern New England, quarters for parking meters, the car
owners' manual, proof of insurance, Dunkin Donuts napkins, flash light, tire pressure
guage and a pen.

A few tapes, nail clippers, and my spare
antenna.

Various photo cd's, music cd's,
vitamins I never remember to take, a portable PS1, a
jumper box, some fishing gear, my travel mug collection (some of it anyway), some maps and
travel books, a couple of boardgames... I forget what else.
Alias Irrelevante
Junk! In the car I have tapes, CDs, maps, a
pen and paper, mints, change, a baseball cap and a towel for the seat when the leather is
excruciatingly hot. In the trunk I have a pair of shorts, a T-shirt, sandals, sneakers,
blanket, bike tire pump, window washer thingy like at the gas stations, ice scrapper, sun
shield, beach chair and a spare tire. Like I said...junk!
Tracy, 24
Ocean City, NJ USA
Let's see: Insurance card and registration,
owner's manual, a few maps, a disposable camera for pictures in case of an accident, gate
and garage remote controls, a book on CD, an old favorite paperback for filling in odd
pauses, sunglasses, a spare pair of reading glasses, tissues, pad and pencil, hand lotion,
two child seats, windshield wiper fluid, a small tool kit, a flashlight, my name badge for
work, driving shoes. Sounds like a lot, but it is fairly neat until you add the assortment
of toys with which the grandchildren tend to clutter the back seat area.

Lots of junk that should'nt be there.
Tam
There's at least six bottles of water
floating around at any given time. Usually several changes of clothes. Books. Receipts.
Junk mail. Credit card bills. Notes reminding myself to go to the post office to buy
stamps so said credit card bills aren't too much later than they probably already are. And
lots and lots of CD's.
Valeri, 21
Los Angeles, CA USA
Books, ropes, papers, water, 50 lbs of dirt,
and maps. Thank you for writing this question. I need to clean out my car.
Christopher, 28
San Mateo, CA USA
Registration, ice scraper, sun shade, maps,
cassettes, and a little air compressor that runs off the cigarette lighter. It's handy for
flats. I've used it several times, usually to help other people.
Judy, 62

Lots of stuff..too much really. Jumper
cables, some random tools including a complete ratchet set (metric and American), brake
fluid, duct tape, a blanket, lots of tapes, a small address book (never going to be caught
at 1am in a bad part of town in a broken down car without /all/ my friend's phone numbers
and the numbers of AAA and a couple of mechanics again.) and various other
"junk" because I'm very bad about keeping my car clean.
Triana, 29

Everything. There's bottles of water, lots
of Cds, a sweater in case I'm cold, an umbrella, flashlight, usually some sort of granola
bar, extra clothing of my children's.

I have 2
