How many civillian bystander deaths in afganistan would be enough to withdraw US troops?

Unfortunately, I think the entire population of Afghanastan could be killed and the majority of Americans would feel barely a twinge. Their deaths have very little impact or meaning to us. Sad state, isn't it?

Unfortunately you can't wage a war without civilian deaths, even with modern technology. Unlike the terrorists, the U.S doesn't target civilians. I think we need to stay until the new government can function without threat from Alqaeda (sp?), Hamas, or other extremist groups.

I think one is pretty bad... so I don't know.

I have no idea. But here's an observation: not everybody on the list is American; the other people have got to think we're very self-centered.

I can't even begin to answer that one... I'm not even sure we should still be there now.

Too many undefined issues to answer the question properly.

Who knows? I'm so disgusted by this "war." I see it as nothing more than some political scheme...war in itself is senseless, but posing a power trip as a war...risking innocent lives to raise up your ratings in the polls and your ego...well, to be honest, it's bullshit (pardon the language). Civilians have died in every war, I somehow doubt that it's a big factor in whether or not we withdraw the troops. People seem to become heartless when it's not directly affecting them.

I don't know. Maybe until the number of innocent Afghan deaths equals the number of innocent Americans killed on September 11th?

All of them. Then there would be no possibility for any human to do anything to effect the idealistic, submissive government the US hopes to install. Another country that is the "nice little brother" of the US.

I'd say about 4,000, or approximately the amount of people that were killed in the attacks on the WTC, Pentagon and the plane that crashed in PA. Or, how about, 1 million or 1 billion. Honestly, I don't know. I do know that this war was not started by us.  But this war will be ended by us. As our president, George W. Bush said, "The conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others... It will end in a way and at an hour of our choosing."

How many bystander deaths in the United States before the terrorists leave us alone?

I don't know...why are we still there anyhow? I think if we want to capture Osama Bin Ladin, a better tactic would be to send in a stealth unit of special forces to ferret out him and his cronies instead of bombing the heck out of the whole country. I hate the idea of war and genuinely feel for the civilians who must suffer because of it.

Apparently not enough.

I don't think we will withdraw until we get the terrorists and Alquida members. If bystanders get caught in the cross fire, then so be it.

How many innocent lives were lost in the Trade Center and Pentagon bombings, as well as Flight 93? That amount would suit me fine.

I believe you should kill them all - drop a nuclear bomb and get rid of all terrorists in afghanistan in one go. That's my opinion!!

One death, and that's all. Sure, we got rid of the Taliban, but we also helped get a new leader who was once a leader of one of the tribes in Afghanistan. That sounds like trouble to me. A lot of civilians died; their deaths don't justify the deaths in America. Osama Bin Laden is still out there. How much did we really accomplish? Sure, the Taliban were religious oppressors, but their only real wrong was hiding the terrorists. Now that we got rid of the Taliban, shouldn't we have been able to find Bin Laden too?
