What is your
all-time favorite song and why?I would have to say that I care for others and enjoy helping
others and I don't expect anything in return other than when my time comes someone will be
there for me. But who, as the ones I am helping and try to be there for ,they are all
older and I probably will outlive them all. But sometimes I hope I don't as I don't know
who would be there for me but I won't worry about it till the time comes.

Difficult question. My favorite line
from a song is "I wish I was like you/easily amused" from All Apologies by
Nirvana. All time favorite intro is the opening riff
from Guns 'n Roses' Sweet Child O'mine. But it seems like every time I have a favorite
song it gets overplayed.
Alias Irrelevante
That's too hard a question.
Different songs apply to different situations. . .

The Pina Colada song which I think has
another name. I just love how it's about a couple who thinks they need a change, but come
to realize that they hadn't explored each other to the fullest. I think it's the best
thing in the world when you find out something new about someone you thought you knew

I suppose my favorite all time song is
"Outta Get me" by Guns N' Roses, because it reminds me of when I was in high
school.

O Holy Night - was written in every
way that I find exciting. The music and lyrics are
profound and I could only hope to write as such a timeless and enigmatic masterpiece.
O Holy Night
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope! The weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the angel voices
O Night Divine
Oh, the night when Christ was born
O Night Divine
Oh, night
Oh Night Divine

"Just A Girl" by No Doubt -- it
shows a woman fighting independence, but isn't FEMENIST

This is a tough one. Right off the top, I'd
have to say "Embraceable You," a Gershwin tune. It's simple, it's short, it's
soothingly melodic, and the words are pretty romantic. It's been my favorite for years.
I'd have to remain faithful here since I can't dedicate lots of time for thought on

Don't really have an all-time favorite song
but traditional Christmas song in general touch me. "This Land is Your Land, This
Land is My Land" is a favorite and Lucinda William's version of "Passionate
Kisses" I like.

My favorite song of all time is
"Today" by the Smashing Pumpkins. I know it sounds trite, but that song changed
my life. It turned me on to music in general... I was
13 when I heard it for the first time, and ran out and bought the cd that day. Siamese
Dream (the cd) sorta defines my whole teenage experience, which was alternately pissed off
and spaced out.

"IF TOMORROW COMES" IT JUST MAKES
ME THINK THAT WE ARE NOT PROMISED A TOMORROW AND IF I WERE TO DIE TODAY WOULD MY HUSBAND
AND ALL MY OTHER FAMILY KNOW JUST HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM

As clique as it sounds, I'm going to have to
go with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. When I heard it for the first time
four years ago it really changed my life as far as music was, because it served like a
gateway to most of the music that I listen to now.

"take it with me" by Tom Waits It
is so sweet, about his love for his wife, and gets me right in the gut, like most of his
music. He is amazing.

A Poem on the Underground Wall
(Simon and Garfunkel, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme
collection) This is my favorite because... it paints a vivid picture and the music
complements the lyrics. It clearly shows the beginnings of Paul Simon's brilliant song
writing. I also like The Dangling Conversation for the same reason. (Also on Parsley,
Sage, Rosemary and Thyme) I can (and have) listened to this collection over and over and
over and over again. See the message board for the lyrics.

It is "With Or Without
You" by U2, because I just really like the song.

I've narrowed it down to two: 1)
"Bad" by U2. I don't know why this song intrigues me so much, but it is
extremely emotional for me. I always tell me friends that I want that song played at my
funeral and of course they think I'm strange and warped. 2) The song that has probably
been in my heart and soul for most of my life is Bob Segar's "Against the Wind".
My brother died in a car accident in 1978...he was 14 and I was 9. He was my only sibling.
In 6th grade I became friends with an 8th grade guy. In many ways I feel like he helped
fill the "big brother" void I was feeling. I idolized this kid...absolutely
adored him. In February of my 6th grade year he was killed in a motorcycle accident. I
felt like my world was falling apart. I remember that it was around this time that
"Against the Wind" was popular. I grew up very fast that winter and realized
that this is a very cruel world. I felt like the only true person that I would ever be
able to count on was myself. So I had to learn to be strong and roll with the punches
because this life was going to be one big roller coaster ride full of much pain and
despair.(I didn't realize until much later that there is also happiness and joy in life)
The words in that song helped me find that inner strength that I so desparately needed,
and I could feel myself become more at peace every time I heard it. The song has continued
to "follow" me through my life with the last verse talking about how, many years
later, as an adult with "deadlines and commitments", he's still "running
against the wind". It's amazing how therapeutic music can be to the soul.

Well, since my life involves a lot
of music I have a favorite song for just about every decade and every genre. But one of my
favorite songs has to be "In your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. Just because it is in
the movie "Say Anything" with John Cusack. But I also really like "Every
Little Thing She does is Magic" by the Police. Man, this question is pretty difficult
for me to answer - so many songs come to mind that mean
so much for so many

"Name" by the Goo Goo Dolls,b/c
the following line(s) are my life: "scars are souvenirs you never lose/the past
is never far/did you lose yourself somewhere out there?/ did you get to be a star?/you
grew up way too fast and now there's nothing to believe/reruns all become your
history." I love that song.

"Nirvana" by Juliana Hatfield. . .
at least it has been for the last few years. . .it captures all the anger, pathos and
depth of frustration I feel most of the time, while still realizing the absolute
importance in maintaining balance and focus, as the whole thing, my whole sanity, could
fall apart in a matter of seconds. . .It also captures brilliantly what the group Nirvana
was/is all about. . .and this was a couple years before anyone outside of indy circles
ever really heard of them. . . which makes it extra special cool and groovy. .
.Unfortunately Ms. Hatfield apparently doesn't perform the song in concert anymore. . .it
is pretty far away from where her creative journey has taken her now, of course. .. .

Dead by They Might Be Giants Why: great imagery and story, strong chord structure and also very
easy to sing along to. also, it lacks what ruins a lot of today's music for me: it is not
overdone with reverb and sound effects, and the song actually ends. i think it's a cop-out
for a band's song to just trail off, volume decreasing into nothingness. makes me scream,
C'mon, end it! You have to end it in concert, do it on the album too!

There are
many songs I call my favorites. I loved Jimi Hendrex's Little Wing. I find that song
soothing and hypnotizing. But to sing around with my sister, Talking Heads. With my
husband our song is Genesis by Jorma Kaukonen or The Doors. Now I really like the band
Everlast and Creed. I would have a hard time just picking one album if I was stranded on a
desert

I like freebird by Jethro Tull,
Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones and Violet By
Hole. Okay, so that's more than one, and I haven't said why, but...you know, sometimes you
just like a song. And sometimes a song just likes you.

It would have to be Tonic's "Lemon
Parade". If you don't have the CD get it. When my husband I and first fell in love we
were over a thousand miles apart from each other. The nights were the hardest. When I
would get really down he would sing this song to me. It never failed to leave a smile on
my face even after I fell asleep. We played it at our wedding for our dance, it still
makes me smile and feel very loved.
