What's one mistake no one will let you forget?

Great question. About 8 months ago at work, I had booked a large group to attend a special program in our Marine Theater. Ironically, my boss suggested I sit in on the program to learn more about it. Well there is a report that I gather and turn into the various departments every two weeks to clue them in as to staffing necessities etc. I had forgotten to include this large group program on the report and there I sat, in the theater, along with about 140 school kids and their very annoyed teachers.... only to realize that no one was showing up to teach this class. When it dawned on me that it was all my fault, I wanted to crawl in a hole. They ended up making due with alternate staff, but it was a rushed program and they had to offer some money back to the school. It's now a regular joke at the office, but it wasn't very funny that day!

Interesting question. Honestly, there is no overall mistake that keeps getting brought up. But within each faction of friends and family there are different mistakes. My one friend who was editor of
the newspaper before I was never lets me forget several headline mistakes that have been made over the years - that I made. Particularly one where I used west when I was supposed to say east. Or was it east when I was supposed to say west...

When I was very young, about 4 years old, my parents had to drive to the airport to pick up my brother, who was around 17 years old. He left home to hitchhike cross-county. He got food poisoning and had to come home. My parents left me with my older brother and sisters at home. They let me eat an entire package of Oreo cookies. Of course I threw up -- a lot -- in my bed and they left me there for my mother to clean up. At least once a year someone starts up with "Remember the time Laura ate a box of Oreos..."

I don't know. I'm sure there are some that actually bug me, but all I can think of are funny things. .
.like how I threw pieces of chocolate frosting from a donut on the floor when I was little because I thought they were bugs, or how Mom told me to punch down some bread dough and I just made a fist and punched straight into the center and the dough went "whooosh."

I can't think of any mistakes, that anyone reminds me of at any time. I'm sure there are a few, that I remind myself of often, but not anyone else.

There's a lot of them!!!! Probably the thing I'm teased about the most (though it's not really a mistake) is when I was a teenager and threw up on my best friend's back. Sorry...I know that was disgusting!

In my family it doesn't matter when, or how many, where, how or any thing else, sooner or later it will be brought up, again and again and again.

i think other people are pretty forgiving of me. it takes a long time tho for me to let myself forget my own mistakes.

When I was three I broke an extremely rare and expensive piece of Star Wars memorabilia that belonged to my brother, and to this day he brings it up all the time. It was his own fault anyway, you shouldn't give something that valuable to a three year old.

My errors in child rearing.

No one else has ever thrown my mistakes in my face. I won't let myself forget getting into the accident that broke my leg, because it was my own fault.

Getting far too drunk at a friends 18th, and throwing up on people. I will never hear the end of it, even when I'm 80 they will still be reminding me!

I guess whatever it is, everyone's been slacking, because nothing comes to mind.
