If
you were on Who Wants to Be a Millionnaire, who would you choose to be your life-lines,
and why?Bill, Sol, this guy Shay from my high school--those guys know everything
about everything!

I've never had a scarey situation in my
life-knock on wood
Stephanie, 25

Jill, who for all the years I have known her
has read even more omnivorously than I do, and who can respond swiftly to tricky
questions. My son-in-law, Mark, whose interests cover very different areas from mine --
between us we make up an almost unbeatable Trivial Pursuit team and are often banned from
playing on the same side. Then I'd have to find a clever young thing who could provide
expertise in pop music and culture.

Sigh...ignoring the fact that I'd *never* be
on that show, only Jeopardy!, I'll answer anyway. I'd say my girlfriend, but she'd be in
the "spouse" seat. So instead (1) a friend in Manhattan, because the girl just
knows *everything*. (2) a friend currently in Boston, because he's also really smart. (3)
my mom, because she'd be sad if I didn't include her.

I'm probably one of the few people
in America who has never watched Millionaire but my
friend Ernest tells me that your Lifeline is (are) the people you would call on to help
you answer a specific question. I guess I would call Ben Stein from Comedy Central for
most things, one of my co-workers, Beverly Johnson for questions about botany, and Mark Garland, naturalist, about butterflies and birds.
Reba, 51
Rockville, MD USA
I don't watch the show so I don't know how
many you get, so I'll just tell you about one. I'd call my aunt because she finished
college, taught highschoo, is a hs assistant principal, and watches jeopardy. She's neat.

A Librarian.
Alias Irrelevante
I would pick 3 very smart people. I'm
talkin' very smart. Even if I had to split the money w/ them.
Stephanie, 25
TX USA
I would choose my fiance's father because he
is very knowledgable in every subject. Very bright man.
Cathy, 26

I got the idea to ask this question
based on an article by Tony Kornheiser...he's funny.
Anyhow, if it were related to cars, science, math, or computer, I would make my dad my
life-line.
If it were related to the Dallas Cowboys,
pro wrestling, or the Planet of the Apes movie, I would ask a friend of mine from FL.
Of course, I don't know alot, so I'd need a
lot of lifelines...

Although I find this game show moronic, I
would pick Cathy who is the girlfriend of a friend of mine. It helps that she has her MLS,
but she comes up with the best solutions to information problems.
Felicia, 35

Sorry, I don't watch television.
Jill, 60
Saylorsburg, PA USA
i wouldnt be on who wants to be a
millionaire...
Jenn, 18
Milwaukee, MI
USA
I would choose my mom because she's
smart.
Kevin M.
My dad, because
he is the lord of trivia, one of my old instructors Mr. Hooker cuz he's a science
whiz, my best friend Melissa because she is an artsy fartsy kinda girl, and Jay because he
is freakishly knowledgeable about pop culture.
Maggie, 20
Sandwich, IL
USA
Hmm... my mom, my Confirmation sponsor Mr.
Marriott, and my Dad- they're all very smart and I love them all a whole lot.
Jeremy, 14
Highlands Ranch, CO USA
I think I would choose either my
grandfather or my cousin John-because both of them like to read and know all kinds of
stuff that I would never even think about.
Angela, 16
Aiken, SC
USA
I'd try to choose a couple of friends who
are most knowledgeable in several topics each. And I'd tell Regis to quit pointing his
finger at the TV viewing audience every damn time he's about to start a game.
Fisch, 45
Preston, CT
USA
How many people do you get to pick? God and
Satan what one didn't know the other one would.
Maria
uh. . .probably
my friend Dan and my neice Lauren, because I respect their general knowledge of trivia and
I'd love to see how they'd react under the circumstances. .
mothmc, 36
Los Angeles, CA USA
Probably my brother, because he has a good
knowledge of pop culture, either one of my parents, because they read a lot and know
tonnes of stuff, a friend that knows loads of stuff on sport, and then I'd find two people
who are experts in specialised fields.
