Do you recycle?

I put my cans in the can recycling container, if it's there, but beyond that, no, I don't.

Socrates One
Lowell, MA

Yes, although I understand the local trash hauler isn't enthusiastic about recycling and jumbles all trash in the landfill. Further the newspapers are ground up and used as daily sealer. I compost and every bit of kitchen waste and yard waste goes back to the land

Absolutely

Laura, 35
Lowell,

Unfortunately, no. Baton Rouge doesn't pick up recycling at apartment complexes, and I'm a bit too lazy to bring it myself.

Amy, 23
Baton Rouge,

Yes.

Karen, 20

Yes. Everything I can. I even find myself pissed off at those who insist on throwing out cans, bottles, and plasitc items into the regular trash when they should go into the recycle bin.

Felicia, 34

I try to as much as I can...when I drink soda, I usually bring the aluminum can to a friend of mine at work who collects them and then takes them in for money. We also have a recycling bin in my department at work for white paper. I also try to do the same at home.

I did when I was 18, but have discovered that in my own house here in the big city, it's entirely too much of a pain in the rear end.

We recycle all plastics, glass, newspapers and magazines every week. They are pick up every week by the city.

Don't we all? If not, shame on you!

Pamela, 38

Hell no!

It's a great idea, but this is not a solution, although the manufactures have manipulated the public into believing so. Don't get me going here! Everyone forgot WHY we are recycling:

Because the Earth's resources are almost gone, Because every computer disc comes with a 500 page book and in a box 5 times bigger than necessary.  Because car makers make cars that NEED to run on resources that ruin the environment.  Because we are making millions of things that are not biodegradable: chemicals, toxins, plastics and fumes that ripped a whole in the   atmosphere and that NO ONE knows how to fix.

The manufactures had a problem: How can manufactures make a profit and keep  the consumer happy? Answer: Make the consumer recycle our UN-biodegradable crap. That way we can still make a profit and the public will feel responsible for the dying Earth.

The solution is for manufactures to stop making crap. Biodegradable things recycle themselves. (Grrrr)

Doesn't everyone?

Jane, 60

Yes, my household recycles everything possible. Cans, plastics, glass, cardboard, magazines and even junkmail. Our vegetable scrapes go into the compost bin. We grind up the leaves from our tree's to mulch the flower beds. We try to be earth friendly. Although I could do alot better in the that department. I could use public transit more often. I could waste less electricity turning my computer off when I'm not using it. I don't

Cindy, 41
Lowell,
MA

Yes. I recycle newspapers, glass, plastic, cardboard. I also try to give away clothing, toys and items that I no longer need to other people. I feel guilty just throwing out things that other people might be able to use.

Janet, 42

Yes, but disapointingly, our comunity dres not recycyle aluminium, compost, paper, and glass are a yes though!

Ernest, 28

Yes as much as I possibly can.
Paper, plastic, cans, bottles go to recycle point.
Jumpers, clothes and bedding go to charity shop.
Food goes to my dog or the compost bin.
Books and magazines go to my workplace or the local Cancer Hospice.
