With what Greek/Roman god(dess) to you identify yourself most?

Although I'm a male, I think I identify a lot with Circe. She wasn't evil, but cunning and intelligent. She knew how to get Odysseus to stay with herfor a while, even if it took a means that was not very nice.

Prometheus. The only god I have been tempted to worship in my adult life.

Forty years ago I thought Athena would be worthy of my worship. These days, I understand Hera,  jealousy and all. Honoring and protecting the family inthe new millennium is a career that entails a bit of short temper every few days.

Was there a god of atheism?

Artemis, although I think Hermes is awesome too.

If I had to pick a goddess, I would definitely pick Athena. I have often thought all I had going were my brains... and since I'm adopted, it's possible I did spring out of someone's skull! (and, of course, I often give my father a headache). But, if I had to pick a demi-goddess, I think Persephone would be my best bet. Sometimes it feels like I'm 6 months in the sun and 6 months in the dark, figuratively speaking.

I'd like to identify with Athena, serene goddess of wisdom, but more often I feel like Pandora, with my curiosity having let problems out in the world but still clinging to hope.

Probably a cross between Athena and Artemis (Diana in Roman mythology). An egghead who loves the outdoors. Wouldn't I love to be Aphrodite / Venus. I/m too rational to deceive myself with such thoughts.  Then again, Medusa has a certain allure. Is she really a goddess though?

A few years ago I read an interesting book by Jean Shinoda Bolen called the "Goddess in every woman". It talks about the different goddess' and how at different times of a woman life she epitomize an aspect of a certain goddess. eg A young woman might have traits like Persephone and a career woman would have Artemis like traits. My friend Barb says I'm most like an Athena woman, industrious and craft oriented. When I first fell in love with my current partner I most identified with Venus.

Bacchus or Dionysus I guess. . .not that I drink or imbibe at all at this point. . . He just seems like a fun, care-free kinda person, er God. . .

I relate the most to Artemis/ Diana. My ideal life would be to live in the wild, with the forest and all the animals. I also would like a brother like me, like she has Apollo who rules the sun like she rules the moon. I also appreciate the fact that she protects animals and mothers against hunters and men. I think the world needs more heroines like her to look up to.

I don't know about Greek or Roman mythology to answer this. I do identify with the apostle Peter. He was so earnest. My favorite "Peter story" is when he told Jesus that he'd never let Jesus wash his feet. Jesus basically said, "Look, if you don't let me do this, you've missed the point and you're not getting into the kingdom." So Peter figures he knows a good thing when he sees it says, "Well if that's the case, don't stop at my feet, wash all of me."

It would have to be Nike godess of Victory and maybe Eos.
Many thanks to Jami for helping the uninitiated.

I suppose the God that I think I identify with most is Mercury/Hermes, God of commerce, wrestling, and anything requiring skill. I love pro wrestling, and I liked to think I am skiled in lots of different things, although I don't think I am a God.

In terms of Godd(esses) that I can most identify with, since I am currently reading Mythology from 1940-there is nothing like the smell of a 60 year old book)...I think I can answer that question more accurately. I am a combiantion of Artemis (Goddes of the Wild, Hermes (Guide of the Dead, Master Thief, and Zeus's messenger); and lastly, Nereus, called the "Old Man of the Sea". He thinks just and kindly thoughts and never lies
