What's the most
memorable thing you've ever seen on television? The most memorable thing I've ever
seen on television is probably the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger, Jan. 28,
1986. It is my version of the assignation of President Kennedy. If anyone ever asks what I
was doing when I found out about the explosion, I will be able to say, "I walked into
my dorm room after a class my freshman year at college, turned on the TV, and it was all
over the place. I was totally shocked and saddened." It is a day I will never forget.
Tie for second, the last episode of Cheers,
Seinfeld, and second to last show of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

The challenger blowing up. I remember it
cause I was in 5th grade and the whole class was watching it. I probably also remember it
because people were talking about it for weeks after that.

I remember the Challenger exploding in the
sky. I was at college walking into my dorm on a very snowy day. The pictures
on the TV seemed surreal. It just never occured to me that accidents of that sort
could happen. The American Space program was infalliable, wasn't it?
Picture of the Berlin Wall going down are also in
my mind. It never occured to me that the political world map could change so
quickly.
And finally in a typical girly fashion I remember
waking up to see the wedding of Princess Di to Prince Charles and the announcement of
Princess Di's death struck me as unreal. In fact I thought it was a Saturday Night
LIve skit at first.

I remember when
Reagan won his race. . .I guess it would have been the second one. No, it had to be the
first. I don't know. I was about 4. It's easy to remember political things and stuff like
the whole OJ incident because people still talk about them. I also remember some movies
from when I was little, though.

During the Blizzard of '96, some
pipes in Downtown Norfolk exploded & left one of the local news stations in the dark.
Rather than cancelling their 6pm newscast, they went on
the air in their regular clothes (jeans, sweats. etc), in the dark, with a hand-drawn
weather map on a piece of cardboard. I never laughed so hard at the news!

Joe Montana on Saturday Night Live saying
"I'll just be upstairs masturbating" in a skit where you hear what all of the
characters are thinking.

Wow, this is a hard but interesting
question. I have to mention the X-Files because it is just genius writing and I've
probably seen every episode at least once. I've seen
some of them up to five or six times. Another thing that I thought of was an Oprah episode
that featured biracial kids...it kind of opened my eyes. Not that I was racist or ignorant
before, but something really clicked with me during that. The last thing I think of is all
the movies that are played on Saturday afternoons. Breakfast Club, various scary movies
from the 70s and 80s like Halloween and Poltergeist, things like that.

I don't watch much television. The
last time was for the coverage of the Gulf War and I was more interested in information
than entertainment.

Myself on the local news.
It doesn't happen often, you know.

The
Challenger explosion. America's reactionairy loss of faith in our future expansion into
space. and Bill Clinton lying with every turd-like word that has come out of his mouth for
8 years. I believe more that I see on Pokemon cartoons than what that sex-offender spouts.

The most memorable thing I saw on television
would probably be a tie:
Between when the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded in 1986, and when the Berlin Wall came
down. Those were two major happenings in my lifetime.

when
Shawn Michaels threw Marty Janetty's head through a part of a stage set when they were in
the middle of a close embrace to supposedly reuite and re-establish The Rockers as a tag
team in the WWF. . . (this was about 1991 or so. . . .) . . . I knew as I was watching it
that it was staged, however, I was really upset by the coarseness and brutality of
the betrayal and fell in love with the deep surreality of it all. . .

This may sound a little weird, but I watched
Princess Diana's funeral when it happened, and I can't seem to forget how powerful that
was.

It felt like a part of history in the making
when I watched the first main character of a TV sitcom come out as a lesbian. Congrats,
